IMO it all depends if we'd have money left after Dzeko's purchase, which I doubt we would.

So if you look it that way we don't need him, we should cover other areas that look really awful. Wingers should play the most important role for us this season and who we got, Pepe? Martinez (that's not even supposed to play there)? So yeah, I'd rather avoid Dzeko, despite his qualities. Unless 30mln comes out of nowhere or an early Christmas gift.

In reality we have to settle for medicore wingers a good CM (Marchisio) altough I think he is currently a bit overated a destroyer Sissoko or Melo who sometimes destroy his own team with his actions (like stepping on the opponents leg and earning a red card).
A defence that has potential but not experience put aside Chiellini
36 SS DP who is great but he needs someone to help him and medicore striker Amauri (altough I think we`ll get Dzeko and that would be one of the only positions that being taken by a great player)

I don`t see us fighting for the scudetto
The best case scenario is if we be able to fight for 2nd place

Honestly, I agree that we kinda need Diego as well unlike what Moggi the greatest has said. especially our winger is quite 1-dimensional.

But this is just one side of Marotta's decision, the other side being who he will bring to replace him. And what I am thinking is just a more reasonable basis of criticizing our management.
