Anyone here use stumbleupon? I clicked it while reading this thread and this came up.

Everyone from Dubai put on your blindfold before clicking:

What's even more frightening than the fact that he was fired for those completely harmless jokes, is that most Muslims who have replied in this thread actually think it was justified.

Of course it is! If you choose to see that they are harmless that is your choice. But dont bring it along with you to a Muslim country.

There are red lines that one should not cross, and it will never get justified for any other reason. If what wasn't a hot issue, then it wouldn't have been woth the mention.

Revin and or his radio station in SA were sued for offending Christians, Muslims and Jews on air. A Leopard never changes it's spots. Expats should respect the Emirates laws and customs as they are, and always will be, just visiting.

Please tell me, what harm has been done here? What is the purpose of this red line?

Whar harm came from Don Imus's comments on the women's basketball team? there are things you shouldn't be saying when you KNOW people find it offensive, especially when you are a foreigner

Well, he then simulated the same conversation in relation to Dubai.
It was about God complaining about the high rises in Dubai and he is bothered by them..

Had this DJ called God a rough, nappy headed ho then I would agree with you. But that is not the case here at all. He just portrayed God as a friendly guy with a sense of humour. Shocking, isn't it?

to each his own mate...what you may find as harmless could be deeply offensive for someone else

I don't know what he said, this is the first I'm hearing of this incident...don't know what to make of it so far, but if he did do "research" on the Dubai market, then he should definitely know better
