Yes and no. The highest salaries are usually given to the players with tax relief, so although he isnt the highest paid player in Serie A for net wages, he is for gross wages.

Normally, I would agree with this but its also a little more understandable if a club is in a transition and decides to change philosophies or change directions and move on from a striker like him for that reason. Not entirely understandable but somewhat more understandable.

I'm also a big believer that we never know the true story on 99% of transfers. There could be a million reasons why we could move on from him and many of those reasons could be at no fault of our own or him.

Also, keep in mind these are rumors from the same bunch who had rumors about him sleeping with a teammates wife, who had him going to Arsenal, etc. It is what it is.
