Looks off pace and out of form, perhaps needs more time to adapt to the intense training and methodology here… good thing that we’re only in September meaning there’s plenty of time for him to improve and turn things around, still too early to give any radical judgements on him, even more so after a game where almost everyone underperformed.

You really believe we have a more intense training than Premier league Villa?

Good question, honestly i’m not exactly sure how they do it over there, but rumors has it that the training program and off field rules here are extremely intense and very strict.

Except for Dani Alves, have we ever had a Brazilian who played well for Juve?

Emerson was fantastic for us even if it was end of his peak years.

We haven't had much Brazilian star level players sign for us. Mainly backup types or at best rotation.

Bremer looking to become the best Brazilian we had.

Most fun tho is Diego for me.

Alex Sandro had two good seasons before his decline. Danilo probably had one or two. If we go back even further there’s Altafini, although I’d consider him more of a Milan legend, was an important player during his short spell.

The real question would be why do always seem to pick the average ones? Other Serie A teams had Ronaldo, Adriano, Careca, Cerezo, Aldair, Cafú, Zico, Falcão, Kaká to name a few while we end up with the likes of Hernanes, Lúcio and Melo.

There’s an old article I probably won’t find again which talks about how we almost signed Pelé in the 60’s. Now imagine that. Contracts were different back then and he wasn’t allowed to leave. And I remember Santos’ management confirmed they were in talks with us regarding Neymar. Hate him all you want but a 22 year old Neymar was a force to be reckoned with.

The closest we got to a star was Diego (?) and I think that was a case of wrong team at the wrong time. But then again if I had to make a top 30 Brazilians of all time list he wouldn’t be anywhere near it. Probably not even 50.

Emerson was 'ok' with us. I don't think either he or Vieira did much. Diego was also one huge flop.

Sandro was good for the first two years, but his mediocre years far outlived his good years, so he was overall a big flop.

Interestingly, certain nationalities tend to be better at specific clubs for some reason.

Argentinians = Inter Milan
Brazilians = AC Milan
French = Juventus

History has shown us that judging an American player or an Italian from the Next Gen as terrible after just 0-2 matches is completely justified. But that shouldn't apply to others, especially if they are from South America. Give Dougie, Nico and the others at least 10 matches.
