Juventus To Acquire Mattioni From Gremio - Report

The long negotiations between Juventus and Gremio for Brazilian wing-back Felipe Mattioni seem to be nearing a conclusion.

According to itasportpress, the Bianconeri will be announcing the signing of the 20-year-old prospect within the next few days as the player was in Italy today, with his agent, while meeting Juventus sporting director Alessio Secco.

Yesterday, Gremio chairman Andreas Krieger had assured that Mattioni would stay with the Brazilian club for another season, but that no longer appears to be the case.

Juventus will play around €7 million for the player, according to reports.

His agent is Mino Raiola, who has also worked with Pavel Nedved and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Therefore, there has been speculation for some time that Mattioni will sign with La Vecchia Signora.

Felipe Mattioni started his carrer in 2004 as a youth player, and was promoted to the first team in 2007, but did not feature in this season. However, he make impact with his performances in 2007 U-20 Brazilian League. In 2008 season, after feature in the Campeonato Gaúcho, he made his league debut in a 2-0 home win against Náutico.

A right back he is renowed in Brazil as one of the hot prospects in this position for the future. Because of his pace, technique and impressive dribbling skills for a fullback, he attracted interest of many top european clubs, most notably Juventus, Manchester United and AFC Ajax.
In November, it was reported a £4,5 million deal with his agent, the italian Mino Raiola, who also works with Pavel Nedved and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He is set to join a Serie A club, most probably Juventus, in July 2009.

how many serie A years does he have? and economic and club conditions are very different now

well when we paid that much for criscito he had no serie A experience ..
and even if there is an economic crisis globally I doubt Juventus are any worse off right now playing in the CL then they were coming from Serie B.

I don't think 7 million is too much for a good young player as long as the club are sure of his talents. look at milan and Pato or Arsenal and their players. We do need a RB as well. We have good young players in all positions but no RB.
