Criscito in Genoa-Juve tug of war
Italy’s World Cup star Domenico Criscito could go to a blind auction, as Genoa and Juventus cannot reach a deal.
The defender is co-owned by the two clubs and has spent the last two seasons at Marassi.
“There are only a few hours to go before the deadline and many difficulties to be overcome,” said agent Sandro Gedda.
“I am not optimistic. I think the two clubs will go to a blind auction.”
This means both sides put a bid for 50 per cent of his contract into a sealed envelope and the highest wins gets to buy the other club out.
However, Criscito could yet end up somewhere else entirely in 2010-11.
“There has been no official contact with Fiorentina, although his name has certainly been mentioned quite a lot with regards to the Viola,” continued the agent.
“In any case, first of all we must resolve the co-ownership issue.”
