Well hopefully he will become a better finisher than Morata...

He was never ours.

He was a Sassuolo player. In 2013 we bought half of his contract for 4,5m euro. In 2015 we sold our half back to Sassuolo for 10m euro. Now, just like before we bought his half in 2013, he's a Sassuolo player. As a matter of fact, so far we earned 5,5m euro from Berardi, by buying half of his contract from Sassuolo and then selling it to the same club.

If we now buy him for 25m euro, it means that he'll cost the club 19,5 million euro overall for transfer.
If we didn't sell him for 10m and still owned half of his contract, now we would have paid some 12-15m euro for the other half, and when you add the 4,5m euro we paid back in 2013, it's more or less the same amount (17-19m euro).

Berardi doesnt run with the ball like Morata.

Either someone picks his (off the ball) movements or he picks out a pass himself.So he doesnt need to rely that much on his pace.

Didn't Marotta say we will keep Mandragora in the squad for rest of the year (aka til Marchisio gets back). As 18 years old he doesn't need to be registered with the new rules.

Nah he isn't as fast, but he is fast on the break, not as much with the ball but without or into space it he seems quick. Most of the goals he scored vs Milan was quick breaks.

We have seen Dybala bursting from deep pretty often.It would also help if we have a MF carry the ball forward from deep positions like Gomes?

Only issue with counters in cl would be Mandzukic

Dybala and him can break any line in a counter in UCL, the only issue is our main CF, so we r gonna adjust to him and it's not that hard. Pogs and Gomes would break pressure line, long pass to Mandzo and Dybala-Berardi cutting fast. Predictable but effective
