Definitely not like that kid.

I'm not sure about Christian beliefs about the hereafter. But for us muslims, we're all going to suffer a bit in hell for our sins before we go to heaven. That kid will not have to.
That's about the same in most Christianity there is the teaching of purgatory while some disregard it. Although I hold true to that belief

Why don't you suffer like that kid? You'll be rewarded royally in the eternity of the afterlife.
What Alen said.

I mean, what's the frickin' point then? He puts here, gives us free will, makes us physically weak and wants us to suffer... but he loves us. Make it impossibly difficult to live up to his expectations, and if we fail... ETERNAL DAMNATION :cronios:... but he loves us.
Financial status has little if anything to do with salvation. The only thing that correlates is that the more that is given to you the more is expected from you.
So the child's suffering is pointless. Because he and you could be getting the same thing after, while you got to drive in air conditioned cars during your physical life.

Surely there is a big difference between going straight to heaven and spending years in hell before going to heaven.

How did you get that? I could get less even if I'm affluent and believe I am living a good life. His life and belief may come from a purer place. I neither know his heart nor his soul only God does

Where did you get that from? If your good deeds prevail bad ones, than is paradise awaiting, if not, than its the Hell first .

You know what I just figured out? This forum made non-believers from some believers, but I don't know about a single case here where a non-believer became a believer. Take Matt for example.

Hopefully the church won't learn about this or this site will be history :D

Fuck, I'm done with AC. He never addresses the points. Only recites shit he heard from his pasta.

Anyway, that must be just an Islamic belief then, not a Xtian one.

So if you, and other believers, say Imams and Muslim leaders believe that. Why not rid yourself of everything that gives you comfort and live a life of suffering, since the reward after is in proportion the hardships in this life?

I have to admit that this place takes some credit for my enlightenment. At least it got me to asking more questions. It would have happened anyway.

I'll try and find the Quranic text that proves that. But all people get punished for their sins before going to heaven, that is for sure.

Other than maybe a few select people, and kids who die before maturing and other exceptions.

You're talking about sins now. But what about just not being poor. Do you get punished for living comfortably?

We can't. We're ordered to work in our lifetimes and try to make the best of ourselves and for our society. But in the case where you can't, like this kid, then the suffering he's had in the world absolves him from suffering in the hereafter.
