He was in the situation he was telling you were not. He is saying how he saw it first hand and you are trying to say you know more about it only by hearing about it.

So if people don't even believe regular things what others expirience and still want to imose their own world view, how can one expect they would believe someone who would say had divine or some other spiritual expirience.

To be very frank; there is very little reason to treat religion with respect. Even though hitchens was insensitive, he wasnt always wrong. Religion in itself is not bad. The people who proclaim to be its leaders are corrupt, inhumane imbeciles, and unfortunately so are most of its followers. You cannot shit on reason and expect to be taken seriously.
