Why the hell do you still believe it then?

This is what annoys us the most.
Why does it annoy you at all? Its not like you have to have a live in relationship with andrea where he makes you practice religion 24 hours a day, he does not come to your door telling you to convert or burn in hell.

Tell me sheiku, if u are so agitated by religious people and it bothers you so much what have you planned for your future? A long time ago you said u know that you will probably be married to a god believing religion practicing woman and you will have to live with it. That makes you weaker than any religious person, man or woman, even if you compare your all knowning atheist belief to their belief in santa calus.

Because people's reasons for believing in god or religion is something I'm finding hard to understand. I can't fully understand how people can abandon logic to believe in such things. I expect people to base their beliefs on the evidence that's available and the reasoning that can be provided to support their beliefs. And I expect this evidence and reasoning to be watertight for someone to base their beliefs upon. In every aspect of life I see, strong logic, proof and evidence is what stands as the basis of peoples' beliefs. But god and religion turns everything upside-down and brings in blind faith as the basis for their beliefs. I want to see how people can believe so strongly on something they cannot identify with their senses(sight, hearing, feeling, etc.). And if people do see, hear or feel anything, then I want to know why I or many people like me cannot feel the same. So far, everything I've read here doesn't make sense. And when I try to show them what does make sense to me, it's rejected in favour of their religious beliefs. It simply doesn't make sense how people can have this double standard when it comes to believing in something of such great importance: our origins and how the universe came to be. This is what annoys me.

Religious people are ignorant cunts. Thats why.

They're been butt fucked so hard. It makes me laugh, how some truly believe jesus the carpenter & 'god', are the only true ones, and that belieiving in zeus or odin, or a giant spaghetti monster, is stupid, laughable or w/e. They're just as bad, for fucks sake.

I'm a proud anti-semite, anti-muslim, anti-christian, anti-pagan, anti-giant spaghetti monster, anti-whatever else.

Believing in this (see below), is the same as believing in a jehovah, allah or whoever else.

Honestly, I don't know. Being pretty much the first non-religious person in my family, I have no idea how I'm gonna deal with it.

"All knowing atheist belief"? That is wrong in so many ways. First, I never seriously claimed to be omniscient. In fact, I've stated before that I do not know everything. Second, atheist belief is nothing but rejection of the god hypothesis. It doesn't claim to know anything or everything for certain.

Now let's talk about the part you skipped, namely my previous post.

Christians in america & europe, would be pagans, buddhists, muslims or w/e else, if they grew up in a pagan/buddhist country/cultrue/family.

Some off them go on about how the lord jesus christ came into their lives, or touched them, but if they grew up in a different culture they'd say buddha or mohammed came into their lives.

If y'all know what I mean, if they grew up else where, they'd have a different religion, their religion isn't special, and their god isn't the one true god. It's just gullable people, who will believe in said religion if exposed to it.

Which is why they're fuckin stupid, they have SOOOOO much conviction that their religion is the right one, when their are HUNDREDS of religions, and they wouldn't be following their 'one true religion' if they grew up in iran or something. If they had common sense, they'd realise, that they have NO reason to believe in their religion. And they should have no reason to believe their religion is the correct one.

Religious people are idiots, some of them are 'school smart' (good at maths for example), but they are all gullable idiots.

Yeah. It's funny how the truth can change based on where you were born. Throws the concept of universal truth out of the window.

Religions are a lottery. You bet your money(life) on a ticket(religion) and hope(have faith) that it's the correct one.

I hate those bastards who go to countries to force their religious bullshit onto children in the likes of sub saharan africa.

In my country, they would invite the young teenage children to a 'youth annex (centre)' to play pool/snooker, playstations or w/e else, fun stuff basically, then at the end, they'd get everyone to sit down, and they would procede to lecture the teens about the lord jesus christ.

And christians feel the need to have religious education in my country, they feel the need to brainwash the kids.

Fuckin' scum, they come round knocking on doors sometimes, trying to get people to go to their church, I tell them to fuck off.

And on the high street on a saturday, they're handing out leaflets, shouting out of microphones ('repent your sin', 'accept the lord jesus, into your lives')

A good analogy I heard once is, religion is like a penis, its fine to be proud to have one, but don't force it down are childrens mouths.

Pedantry aside, given that I haven't studied history since the end of high sky and been told that 'Dark Ages' isn't the word were using, the point still stands. More has happened as a result of religion taking less of a roll in western society than when it controlled western society.
Or because western society has become more altruistic; it's not as simple as that.
But yeah, Mother Teresa was a cunt and Gandhi was a racist.
