Just because one doesn't follow a religion it doesn't automatically make them bad. But one that seriously follows a religion is much more encouraged and has much more reason to do good and show benevolence, love and respect to his fellow man,

You were born healthy, with intellect, and with many abilities. Did you choose these things? No. You need to show thanks for these things.
Bravo!!

 - then you don't respect the majority of humanity
Religion does not personify humanity. I can make the distinction. Sadly, you can't.
Judging by your love to ridicule, I guess you've chosen to not be moral at this stage in your life
Again, ridiculing a religion or a belief is not the same as ridiculing a person. Besides, no one said ridicule is immoral.

1. There's no proof for that. In fact, the link I posted about the religious inclination of prison inmates shows otherwise.

2. Yeah, I thanked my parents for all of that already. :)

What seems to always occur here is the non believers always resort to ridicule and have a condescending tone towards believers. Ridiculing belief or pointing out that some who call themselves believers are hypocritical in their behavior no more negates deity than your supposed more an intellectual high ground seems to infer

1 - what other proof do you need other than listening to any religious sermon.

2- Your parents had no control as to your health at birth.

The most amusing thing about atheists is that they somehow tend to see themselves as some new phenomenon, a new innovation, like the latest version of an iPhone or something of the sort. Atheism has been around since time immemorial.

The idea of religion has been around for the same time, if not longer. Intelligent man has to have some way of explaining the weather, stars, sun, moon etc.
