Even atheist scientists agree on the idea that if God does exist then we can't ask who created him because the concept of everything having coming from something is bound to our laws of physics.
That concept is refuted by quantum mechanics.

The same Hawking you're referring to published a book last year(The Grand Design) on how quantum fluctuations may explain how our universe emerged from a pre-existing universe with the big bang.

Here's a quote form the book:

“Because there is a law such as gravity, the Universe can and will create itself from nothing. Spontaneous creation is the reason there is something rather than nothing, why the Universe exists, why we exist.”

He might be right and he might be wrong. However, I think that it could be quite a valid explanation.

I took quantum physics a couple semesters ago, and the only thing I remember from that class is that if you travel fast enough, you slow down time. So if you travel around the world in a spaceship at nearly the speed of light for say, a year, once you land back on Earth it'll be hundreds of years later.

Worst class ever.

It's one of the most difficult branch of physics to understand.

Yeah, and the teacher was nuts

You seem to understand quite a bit  :D
I only took physic classes in high school and therefore my understanding of physics is quite limited. However, I've read a lot about quantum mechanics.

It's an extremely difficult concept to understand, I've had to read/listen to dumbed down versions to understand it a bit more

:D Props.

I shouldn't have taken it in college however. It just lowered my GPA haha. Great class if you're legitimately interested in physics.

Treq do you know that our version is expanding ??
Duh, everyone knows that.

Ah, the good old argument that scriptures talk about concepts that weren't known to man.

Yeah, I'd love to see that.
No old argument. In fact i just saw that you are very interested in physics and thought i share this with you. :)

It says (51:47), "And it is We who have constructed the heaven with might, and verily, it is We who are steadily expanding it."

Some creationists argue that Genesis explains the Big bang as it says in Genesis 1.3:

And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light.

After that, some other things happen and the planets are created. The point they make is that the light represent the explosion(big bang) which happened before our solar system emerged.

Doesn't mean that the bible is right either as far as I am concerned. We're interpreting verses from old scriptures with 21th century scientific knowledge and therefore we make links between those things.

I think it's as much of a stretch as people claiming that Nostradamus predicted Hitler.

How it's a strech ?? I can give other example if you want, about Geology, our embryological developpement and many more and all pf that was a coincidence by an illetrate man.

What evidence do you have that he himself wrote it?

The way I see it, it could have plagiarized both the Old and New testaments, which indicates that it's man-made.

The earliest copies of the Quran that have been found(and dated with Carbon 14) date from the early 700s. What evidence do you have to support the claim that the original version was written by Muhammad?

It's not Muhammed who wrote the Quran, he was an illetrate man. It was god's word to him. I didn't understand your question tough .

It wasn't written by him :)

What evidence do you have that the Quran was written down by Muhammed through the inspiration of God? Or that God wrote the Quran through Muhammed? As I said, the oldest surviving versions that have been found and dated by Carbon 14 and Calligraphic dating are from the early 700s, about one century after it was allegedly written.

It wasn't written by him :)
Neither by God.

Yeah it goes back to year 651 IIRC, do you know that it's only 19 years after Muhammad's death.
