Why are there so many atheists?

Because society dropped the ball. Atleast in the western civilization people were never really thought what it means to believe they were more focused in their jobs, materialistic stuff, etc. And now we have a bunch of people that dont understand the concept so they dismiss it rathet than learn about it. Sheik for example will never accept god, he just wants to be right. Its like talking to a brick wall but I understand its hard to face something unknown
This is one of the tragedies of the last 50 years. People are richer than ever on the outside but empty inside.

Theory of gravity, industrial revolution, electricity... Discovered by religeous people. But nice to prove my point how people are obsessed with materialism (flying cars) while completly forgetting the spirutal aspect of life.

How is the life of a theist different to that of an atheist? What difference does being "spiritual" make?

Correlation does not imply causation. You've failed to demonstrate how their religiosity is causal to scientific discovery. While we have proof of the opposite. Churches vehemently opposed scientific advancement. Didn't they ask Galileo to recant sons of his findings?

In the end, religious or not, the discoveries were still done by men. God did nothing.

WRONG! My standards of evidence for god may be high, but I'll never be as unreasonable as not accepting god despite evidence. If you were god, you would know that this is true.

should i remind you that the basic principles of many of the things that make our life easier today where discovered during the golden age of each religion. example andulusia era, where chemistry, physical, astrology etc etc where pushed to a whole new level? rus before you jump in the deep end of the pool here, try to learn a thing or two about the history of these religions and then you might be better at either understanding them or hell you might even be better at taking shots at them.

here is a point of view regarding the creation of universe. note: the arabic bits are the quranic verses and right after they r mentioned they then said in english. i'm not arguing with any one here, i believe in what i believe and i respect others who might think other wise but here is a point of view that might be valid to these arguments.
