oh lord, how you can keep sidestepping. Alterations to the bible were introduced throughout the first 600 years after christ. all human made changes, made to fit the official policy of the church. you can't keep sidestepping this fact, and if it doesn't shake your belief just a little that some dudes altered it 1400 years ago to make it fit their ideals better, then you're just a sheep.

i have far more respect of agnostics than for people following the big religions.

What? Where did I said I fallow any religion? Or when did I sidestep? it's first time I talked about bible.

And I asked because as far as I know there is no mention of hell in bible. Not to be on religious side, but to show how much people really know about what they talk.

i got the impression that you were religious. it doesn't matter, my point still stands. the whole "i believe in jesus from the bible, not the jesus the church made him into" is one big fat fallacy. they are on and the same.

I too don't think the book is god made, but I do think that there is absolutely wealth of good information. No need to throw it away like that, specially when you haven't read it. You know the saying don't judge the book by its cover? That's here, read it then talk how you believe or not.

It's like saying I don't like LotR without reading/seeing it. :D

Sry if I mistaken, because most haven't read it. I haven't read it full too.

Anyway it's strange that you haven't found good in it. If you don't take it as face value, god written and a proof of god, there is still loads of life lessons in there to study for life time. Only blind hate could not see this. It's shocking to me really that someone would suggest it as a useless book.

it's a useless book today, because everything relevant and good from it has already been integrated in our society (christian europe & usa). what is the standard of acceptable behavior - christian values. everything positive from the book has already become secularized and integrated, just don't see how it serves a purpose anymore.

the amount of negative messages, virtues and actions being celebrated as alright are far outnumbering the positive ones. the only way i'd think the bible is of any use today is within the frame of an anthropological, sociological or historical research regarding ideals of society at the beginning of time calculation.

integrated? lol, have you seen what todays tv is about, how kids act, the way family relationships are and that's just a few of problems "chirstian values" would point to the right direction. Oh the place would be much much better if it were really implemented.

I don't see anything wrong with TV shows and movies. They should be as diverse as possible. Apparently Christianity has a problem with diversity.

I don't agree. Diversity is fine. Raz is saying that the Christianity incorporated into society is a fallacy. Secular TV and entertainment is very antiChristian

You go through 10 channels and minimum 7 people died 2 were raped and everybody is laughing out of shit knows what(stupid comedies without any plot or anything worth looking in them)

I'm not saying diversity is bad, not at all, just that seeing murder, sex, violence is not such a good thing. Funny thing is that christianity is considered brainwashing, while todays tv is ok.
