If anyone is interested in the UK police & the news media role in public events then watch this, its fascinating.

Its about the G20 and the protests in London that happened during it.

If you want just the police then skip to - 3 mins.

Sky is owned by Rupert Murdoch, who owns News Corp, Who owns Fox....

skip to 7 mins for the really scary stuff

Same dude from How TV Ruined Your Life.

Charlie Brooker did Screenwipe in which he focused on Entertainment, Newswipe on the News, You Have Been Watching which was/is a quiz show based around Screenwipe and his latest was How TV Ruined Your Life (don't say it didn't, it did) which is a combination of Screenwipe and Newswipe. He also does a yearly run down on all of TV from the year at christmas. called 'Review of the Year'. On top of that he writes a weekly column for The Guardian.

He isn't my favourate journalist or anything :shifty:

More great stuff from the "peace officers."

    Cops tazer, beat disabled teen

DAYTON, Ohio (CN) - Dayton police "mistook" a mentally handicapped teen-ager's speech impediment for "disrespect," so they Tasered, pepper-sprayed and beat him and called for backup from "upward of 20 police officers" after the boy rode his bicycle home to ask his mother for help, the boy's mom says.

Pamela Ford says her "mentally challenged/handicapped" son Jesse Kersey, 17, was riding his bike near his Dayton home when Officer Willie Hooper stopped him and tried to talk to him.

...Hooper "apparently took Jesse's speech impediment for disrespect ... [and] began yelling at Jesse and after Jesse attempted to communicate with him[.] Jesse, being a minor and mentally challenged/handicapped, turned and rode his bike back to his home in an attempt to ask his mother, Ford, to help him communicate with defendant Cooper," according to the complaint in Montgomery County Court.

On the way, the mom says, "A neighbor attempted to communicate with Officer Hooper about Jesse's disabilities and was told to go back into his home, or he would be arrested."

As Ford opened her front door, she says, Hooper and co-defendant Officer John Howard, "fired their Tasers, striking Jesse in the back with both probes."

"Once inside the house, defendant Hooper and defendant Howard began to struggle with Jesse, who was standing against the back door with his hands up in front of his face, saying 'Please quit, please quit.'

"On numerous occasions, Ford and a family friend, Christopher Peyton, informed Officer Hooper that Jesse was mentally challenged/handicapped, and that Jesse did not understand what was happening," the complaint states.

But the mom says the cops continued their assault: "Officer Howard utilized his Cap-Stun pepper spray and sprayed Jesse ... [and] struck Jesse with a closed fist in the upper chest area.

"Officer Howard utilized his ASP and repeatedly struck Jesse in the upper left side of his left thigh.

"Back-up units were requested to Jesse's house, wherein upward of 20 police officers from different jurisdictions were present.

"Jesse was charged with assault on a peace officer, resisting arrest, and obstructing official business."

However, "Jesse was declared incompetent by the Montgomery County Juvenile Court and the charges against Jesse were dismissed."

Seriously, if you think cops in America are bad, you should see them here in the Arab world. Your cops are like fucking angels in comparison.

The cops here are trending towards those in the Arab world and Mexico. Police forces across the country are lowering their testing standards and that can only mean employing a worse group of individuals. In a time where basic freedoms are being eroded by the government in the name of domestic safety, with any individual being considered a "terrorist" in the new American police state, the policing here will only become more brutal and lawless. We already see it in Indiana with their courts ruling police can invade your house without warrant or cause.

I've found a decent job for myself. The pay is relatively average for a recent college grad, but the nice thing is they offer good benefits which do include a free MBA. So it seems like a very good opportunity.

Don't get down on yourself, something will come up eventually. It's tough for everyone out there. Last time I checked, 50% of recent college grads in the US are unemployed.

The Irish police are made up of family dynasties from the countryside, i.e. Stupid gobshites.

Unprofessional, Overpaid, Poor Trained and never on the side of the little guy. Pretty much your average police force.
