after reading the introduction for the koran from the translator i am convinced that 1. no it was not written by this individual commonly known as god and 2. a lot of it was copied from other religious books

i tried to read the actuall thing, but for some reason it is in that olde "thou" english

Well, Kuran is the last holly book sent by the God, and in it you'll find a lot of things as in Bible for example. Just some changes here and there.

These two reasons aren't themselves convincing, simply, because they're inaccurate. Commenting on your two reasons:

1) First of all, you can't judge an entire book just after reading its introduction. By the way, the Qur'an has been explained by thousands of religious scientists since Prophet Muhammad's (s.a.w) era. Hence, even if you read it all, you won't comprehend more than 50% or less of the holy book.

2) How could you know that it was copied from the other religious books? Actually, you can say that only if you read the whole book besides being well versed in the other religious books.

this is one of the reason I lost faith in God. How can there be more than one book sent by him, did he changed his mind after years? wasn't he perfect enough to send his message in one book, will he change his mind after 500 years?

I am not disrespecting these books, I for myself like the bible as a book, but I don't believe it it is any holy or sent by God, same for other "holy" books as well..

Snoop, I know that this issue is a little bit sensitive, so, I don't want to discuss it deeply.

Although, I just want to ask: who wrote the Bible and the Torah and what is the main difference between both and the Qur'an?

I know the similiarity between them, geographically their origins are from middle east. which makes me wonder why god is so selective, why there aren't any similiar holy books in other region, for example africa, south east asia?

not because I can't argue, but because I know how you will argue, by considering the Qoran as a source.. me and you can't prove anything, so it's only a waste of time..
I know that you can argue. But there is a point that I want to clarify Snoop, I'm not that opinionated even when I discuss religious issues. Another point, I can't prove it because the matter itself is far bigger and greater than me and you to discuss , we need to be more and more versed religiously to just mention that we can argue about it. (Don't take it that seriously as I know that you aren't that religious, I was just assuming).

I am not religious at all, actually I am totally against it.. but I like bible, it has good stories that makes you think, and specially teach your children, but not as order, it's up tp them to choose their life.

even if you and me were that religious, we still couldn't argue, since it's all about blind faith, and has nothing we could prove.

I agree that we couldn't argue, but I disagree with the expression: blind faith. And here I'm talking about the book that I do believe in; the Qur'an. It isn't just a religious book, it is a scientific, social, political and historical book. All the previous properties have no relation with that blind faith.

Anyways, as what you said, let's stop it here. :pint:
