    Manninger is older than Buffon

Or maybe you sold Buffon in order to get Diego, Modric and Schweinsteiger ? :D
    Wasn't that what juve_red suggested? :confused2

It's not easy to be ahead of Kaka and Ronaldinho.
Copa America 2007. There was no Kaka or Ronaldinho. Still, he did not play, but warmed the bench for Julio Baptista, Wagner Love and Robinho. Brasil won it in the end. :)

Exactly. Meaning he didn't get his real chance with the NT. Brazil NT is much more different than Croatia NT. It's not like Modric can make the brazil squad, not in the next 10 years.

Now we are using Dunga's stupidity as an argument?

He played crap players like Baptista and several other hacks over him, Brazil were going to win either way because of the only competition being the chokers Argentina. That Brazil midfield he was benched for was one of the most average and highly criticized in Brazils NT. Brazil won in it in the end despite taht midifeld, and because they ARE Brazil.

There has been no opening for Diego in the NT, few years ago because Kaka and Ronnie was too brilliant to compete with, nowadays its still competetive but still mainly about Dunga's stupidity. Its not one can come even close to comparing the two players NT careers in terms of competition and teams.

Oh he did get the chance, he played the first game from the start. He was so effective, he got subbed at half time. Then he warmed the bench and played after Wagner Love, Baptista and Robinho had their kicks and the games were already won. They say he was tired after the Bundesliga season. :howler:

I'm not saying he can, but at least he played on the biggest stage with a small country and had pretty good results.

Stupidity or not, he won the tournament.

And Domenech got France to the final in the World Cup. I guess it was because of his intellect... Heck even Oprah Winfrey could have done that with that squad!

Domenech won it with a great team that had a great leader while Dunga won with a very average team in which there was no place for Diego in the starting XI. That's what Vlatko has been telling you.

Although, there can be no comparisson between a WC and Coppa America.

Domuncher's squad got there in spite of him. He horribly wasted Henri's talents and he keyed off Zidane, who was going to take down the whole ship with him if he had to (and he did).

That guy rode Zidane's coattails, basically.

My point is, the coach is a minority if the squad is oozing with quality, just like France did. Even though Brazil's squad wasn't the best on the paper, they were still a lot stronger than the majority of their opponents.

Intelligent coach or not, the expectations to France or Brazil would not have been any less in their respective tournaments.
