Silva himself has previously said that his dream is to play for Barcelona.

What speaks in our favour however is that Valencia would be reluctant to sell him to another Spanish side. They might even consider a bid of a few million less if it means that they won't have to sell Silva to a rival.

Valencia warn Juventus away from Silva

Valencia president Vicente Soriano has dismissed reports linking Italian giants Juventus with a big-money swoop for David Silva.

It has been suggested that Juve have been in contact with Valencia over the possibility of making a 30million euros bid for the Spain international, but Soriano insists that is news to him.

"Honestly, I was surprised when they told me this. There is nothing to say about Silva," he said in AS.

"Juventus have not approached us, I have no news on this matter. I was a little perplexed when I saw this information in the press. This is not true. Whoever said it has been misinformed.

"I cannot be any more blunt in saying we have no intention of selling Silva. I cannot say anything more than this. There is absolutely nothing from Juventus."

So it looks like silva and ribery are looking more impossible. Now we need bremen to hit the media saying diego is a no sale and that puts us back on the drawing board for a nedved replacement

Do you really believe everything a club says about transfers?

Of course Bremen and Valencia claimed the players aren't for sale, but they are just trying to make sure the players are sold for their real market value.

What does what the clubs say matter really, what else are they supposed to say? Clubs would say that even minutes before they put a player on the market in the summer, its part of the bussiness, for PR and get better leverage in deals etc.

They are hard targets, but doesnt mean they can be bought for the right price. Valencia in particular have big financial worreis, barely pay salaries etc.

Interviewed by Sport Week, Werder Bremen 24 year old Brazilian attacking midfielder Diego said: "Serie A has many stars like Kaka, Ibrahimovic, Ronaldinho, Del Piero, Amauri and Totti. There is also a phenomenal player like Pirlo. ... The interest from Juventus is real. It is not just rumours. If I will leave Werder, it will be to play for a club capable of winning the Champions League and Juventus can do that. Whoever is interested in signing me, should talk to Werder and with my father, he is also my agent".
