And I am not underestimating his abilities just saying that "great" is a word that is much bigger than Diego, at least just yet. The comparison with Del Piero came in the picture becasue players like him are great so it was weird to say that Diego is great.

The only difference between Diego or any other great player is that Diego still didn't play for a big club.
I find Diego greater than Ibrahimovic ,for example, yet the guy have played for inter, Barcelona and now he 's gonna play for milan. Although playing in big club doesn't make a player big per se.

I wasn't at home at the time we sold him and I'm not aware what he said back then. When I returned at home I saw him blaming the management and the Del Piero thing.
And I don't know how reliable that source was nor if Diego said any of those things about the management or Del Piero.

As seen with that English translation where he apparently called himself a champion like Trez, while in Italian his words were much different, I don't know why do you choose to believe everything that the newspapers wrote in those days.

Well, I generally don't believe everything I read. Actually, when it comes to football journalism, I believe very little of it.

All I know is that there have been quotes of Diego blaming the management, same as there have been quotes of Diego applauding the management because of how the deal was carried out. Quotes coming from the original sources, I may add.
Personally, I don't see any reason to believe the media when they have Diego badmouthing Juve, and then do the complete opposite when Diego is praising the club. You choose to "believe" the media, or you don't.
But you don't choose to believe them when it fits your side of the story, only to pay no attention when it doesn't suit your opinion. At least, that's how I feel.


Like I posted earlier, mostly because I felt it was funny :

What I asked you is why do we accept that he said both those things? An atmosphere was created here that Diego is a confused individual who doesn't know what he's saying and is contradicting himself all the time. That post of yours was actually what started it and those who didn't like one of those things you mentioned, found it convenient to accept that Diego is confused and needs to see a shrink.

Are we trying to divert the attention from Diego's quote above? I'd be careful because you never know if Claudio might decide to go public too after he heard Ciro and Diego.

I can't see why I should take Diego's words seriously when he changed them every three hours. There is something wrong with him in the mind. Might be the bitterness after not being acknowledged as a champion like Trez though.
