To everyone that is lamenting the situation about Diego being sold, and for "only" 15 million, think about these two bullet points for a minute.

#1) This is not the regime that bought him in the first place, so to blast Marotta and Company for selling him for 15 million is unfounded in my opinin. If they were the ones that purchased him last year for the 24.5, and then turned around and sold him, then its more than justifiable.

Which leads me to point number two

#2) For everyone that is hung up on the money, isn't it entirely possible, with the gift of hindsight, that Secco grossly overpaid for him in the first place, and that his value shouldn't have been that high to begin with?

I understand your points.

However I thought that everyone was pleased when we bought him for only 25mil because it was just before Real Madrid and, to some extent, Man City inflated the market?

point 1 is fair enough
dont agree with point 2, especially when krasic is valued at 12-15 mil, yaya toure goes for 30mil, hernadez for 10mil . we sold poulsen for 6mil! and i can go on
diego is certainly worth 20+mil

Can you think for a second before mentioning Van der Vaart?

Del Neri hates to play with AMC, hence Diego got the boot. Diego can even fit in 4-4-2 and Van der Vaart can't...

Does it really look logical to you that we'll buy him after selling Diego? To play 4-2-3-1? No way.
VdV actually can play as MC, he will be more suited in DN system i believe.. As Diego, he only can played as AM C.. So if we end up replacing Diego with VdV, i think it's more because DN look for versatile MC that can fill AM C and MC while he will look for another pure SS..

But i think Marotta will look for LW ather than SS, as Martinez can play as SS

Simple calculation for point 2. Krasic, in his last year of contract is worth 15 mil. Freaking Burdisso in his last year of contract is valued at 8 mil. Are you telling me Diego is only worth 15 mil? Seriously?

Here's another thing to consider. Why is it that only German teams have expressed interest in him?

Isn't it entirely possible that diego WANTS to go back to Germany?

I'm not saying that he is only worth 15 million. What I'm intimiating is that maybe he wasn't worth the 24.5 million in the first place.

Then again, we don't know what the concrete numbers are
