Shouldn't we at least make a serious bid on "Diego's Replacement" before we sell him?

Just inacase we can't find anyone?

Do you think Benzema would do?

it better not be Pazzini, he requires a lot of creativity to work, and he has zero at juve

Cassono won't come,if he refused Inter why would he chose us? Because we are Juve? I'm starting to hate the fact that our club is controlled by idiots. I thought Agnelli and Marotta were an upgrade from last seasons.....
Because he's guaranteed a starting spot.

But the argumet here though, is if that he is truly a superstar, as you call him, then why aren't more teams interessted in him, especially since he can be had for what seems to be pennies on the dollar?

Wouldn't there be larger clubs out there that would be interested in a player of his value? We are talking about a 25 year old trequarista who has shown to have good success in the past.

Let me clarify something. I am not on board with selling Diego if Juve cannot get someone of equal or greater talent that can succeed in a 4-4-2 formation.

I am merely trying to look at all angles. I'm not one who knee jerks and says "Fuck Marotta", or one who drinks the Kool Aid without asking what is in it.

I'm trying to hypothesize the reasoning behind all of this.
I think they did show interest, but he turned them down. I don't know of course. He's not my favorite player and I didn't really want him at Juventus in the first place, it's just that I don't really see who will replace him now.

the Diego of Werder Brehmen was worth 25m....the Diego of Juventus....well, we will never know now what he would ahve been capable of in a functioning team.

i am left feeling hugely deflated by this, with the purchase of Diego we showed that we were beginning to think forwards, bringing creativity into the team and moving us (kicking and screaming) into 21st century calcio.....now....well now we will resort to type, play 4-4-2 win thing domestically and struggle as soon as we play European football
Then you know who is to blame for this?

The new Board of directors, that's who. I was totally on board with bringing Marotta over because I had seen his transfer strategies at Sampdoria, and thought that he would be he perfect bridge between the implosion of the last regime and Juve going forward.

But I was more than a little apprehensive when they brought Del Neri over. I honestly did not like the move. I wanted someone with a different set of ideas than the ones that he brings to the table.

And with Sampdoria he hasn't? Or do you think he would be coming here for the great atmosphere? Or the money? The great team we have? What is what will make him come here?

So then, by that logic, then another team should overpay to get him as well, because after all, Juventus apparently overpaid for him in the first place?
If Secco overpaid for him. I don't think he did.
Anyways, at 15 mill we are selling him for what we bought Krasic with. And Diego is definitely better than that. So again, we overpaid for Krasic or we are underpaid for Diego. Again Marotta's fault.

My guess is that we have an option on Cassano and we are desperately trying to offload Diego. For 15 mill, its a bad piece of business, which ever way you look at it. And Marotta is responsible.

(I'm not a Marotta hater mind you, nor am I trying to find a chance to complain about anything and everything. Just calling a spade a spade.)

Agreed - I dont understand the love for a player that pretty much did nothing when he was here.

If goes he goes to a substanderd league to be a 'Superstar' again. I just hope we get an a decent replacement. though i think this is already lined up to be honest.

You really think that Bundesliga is worse than Serie A.

Samp is not Juventus. I like Samp a lot, they're one of those teams that make Serie A so great. If he scores 15 goals for Juventus he's much more of a star than when he scores 15 for Samp. And he knows.

You cant make that assumption as Krasic is yet to play in Black and White.

Secco did spend too much on a player that simple hasnt as of yet fulfilled his potential with Juve. 15 mil is a good price for a decent player these days expecially when Milner went to City for 25 mil

The last thing that the Bundesliga are is "substandard".

Not by any stretch of the imagination.

They are superior to Serie A in every sense of the word, from depth of quality teams, to european competitions, to stadia, they have Serie A beaten, hands down

Yes - technically. I think at the moment the only difference is that the teams are churring out some decent individuals ie. Ozil. Any league in which Steve Mclaren over as a top 4 manager cannot be compared to the Italian.

All Man City sales now are, generally, Player Value + 50%, no point considering them when trying to compare transfer deals. They're to blame themselves for throwing cash at people...but its worked for them so far!

Again agreed - Melo and Grosso were useless as were the rest of the team and i would rather see Melo leave than Diego but this thread is a DIEGO thread hense the banshing. I only want to point out ppl on here are acting as though we have sold Zidane again in his prime. But at the time we replaced him with Nedved and i dont think anyone would now argue with that sale???
