7.5m eur a year might be really tempting. Diego will not get even close to that in Juve.

Right now he's on 3.8m eur.
But it will increase to 5 million, if I remember correctly. His wages will increase after every one or two seasons, a stipulation in his five year contract.

I don't care if Del Neri said that Diego is on the market while being one of our best players.
I don't care if Diego's father is in Germany.
I don't care if Wolfsburg are able to pay 7.5mil Euros/year to Diego.
As long as it's not official I regard this as a media BS.
This whole situation will show how serious our board is.

Then this is not objectively addressing the situation. You're lying to yourself in this. At no point did these guys say Diego would not be sold.

I've been saying this time and time again because people don't seem to get it and they are setting themselves up for disappointment. Clearly, if this was all media BS, then Marotta would confirm Diego isn't on the market.

Diego could very well stay with us, but if the right offer comes, he may be on his way.

I have hope they're just assessing his situation. Like how much would clubs be willing to spend on him. Maybe teasing Wolfsburg in order to make them let Dzeko join us. I do realize I'm up for a big disappointment, but one can always hope for the best..

If Marotta and DN have no intention of selling Diego, but think they can use the player as bait for Dzeko, meaning they all-of-a-sudden remove Diego from any sort of transfer Wolfsburg had in mind, then they should be fired immediately. There is no better way to piss off a club than to lie about using one of your own players in exchange FOR a player you are approaching to buy.

It's ridiculous, and clearly not logical. I have no idea why some think this is a possible explanation for all of this.

You're forgetting one thing.
It's the player who has the final word on the deal.
Diego may choose to stay with us, meaning Marotta can't be accused of lying. That's what I think is happening.

None taken.
Your posts worry me. If you end up being right in the end, that means we've really become the Inter of the 90's..

Well, that is the one saving grace in all this. I don't think Diego wants to be sold but perhaps his father is just hedging bets for his son.

I think it's quite clear that both parties have gone fishing to some extent.
