No, Del Neri basically said that Diego is our focal point of transfer campaign and the decision we make on him may effect our team in different ways, so we must be careful when dealing with this matter. But he also said he truly believes in Diego's abilities and bla bla. At least that's how I understood his comment a day or two ago.

Currently, Diego and Del Piero are the two players in our team that are capable of creating something. So selling diego would be an absolute act of lunacy unless we bring in another GREAT/World Class play maker, which won't happen. So keep Diego FFS.

It will be a huge prestige blow if we sell Diego and dont buy Dzeko in the end.
I guess we have concluded into smth!
Im surprised that Diego has agreed to a deal that will see him with less financiar.
He probably realised that he has no chances to win any titles with us...

If what Dule posted above is true, Wolfsburg offered Diego almost twice more than what he earns in Juve.

did anyone watch tottenham today? Redknap always uses a fairly simple 4-4-2 with modric the more attacking of the 2 center mids....he is the same size as diego, with fairly similar characteristics...why not try diego there?

Because the furthest we can go is having a box to box CM like Marchisio next to a destroyer. If not, then we must have two destroyers. Sorry, but it's just not the Italian way. It's too risky.

Diego is a support striker. And if he isn't, then he doesn't fit my system and he needs to pack his bags!

Diego isn't scoring enough for a support striker. Right now he's obviously the best we have there, but Diego is still a guy who even in his best scoring season scored as much as the 35 year old Del Piero scored last year in his worst season.

I'd like my strikers to be prolific goalscorers. Diego is our best player, but not someone who scores lots of goals.

Dunno why our coaches complicate things so much. Especially since our target men (with the exception of an old and much injured Trez) aren't players who score +25 a season. Hell, they aren't players who score even 15 goals a year.

His goal record at Werder was nearly 1 in 2 over his entire time there. Where he played more like a support striker. I would be happy with that.

I still think we need to get goals from all areas of the team rather than relying on the strikers, especially with Amauri up there.

And to make it worse, they're hell-bent on a system that requires good poachers. Where in the midfield will the scoring come from?
