I think Diego leaving would be good for the team......reason is if he stays, Del neri would use him as a second striker where I think he would flop and we wouldn't get the amount of goals we usually get from that position. If Del Neri would experiment with Diego as a trequartista, with 2 strikers ahead of him, my answer would be different but all indications show that Del Neri is stringent and is going to play a 4-4-2 with very little variation. Therefore if we can get some cash to invest in wide players who can strengthen the 4-4-2 (a left full back and a winger), then I think it's not such a bad move........ plus we have the best second striker in the world
Ah yes, Del Piero defenders are giving the green light already lol

would be a stupid mistake to let him go, its that simple.

we will be better with diego and striker rather than del piero/martinez and dzeko.

del piero will still be important but he cannot be expected to start every game.

So that's a complain towards the formation, not Diego. His best performances are when he plays behind striker(s).

I don't see anything wrong with it if you have good wingers and full backs.

the thing is i am a del piero fanboy, ill admit it. the guy is my hero, but its just a reality we all have to come to.

its whats best for the team, he will still be vital but more so from the bench or when diego is un available, i think del piero will have a great season.

apparently the thing about diego training with the transfer listed players was bullshit, just a routine thing del neri does.

lol so we give the guy 1 year then boot him out...fantastic

Because Diego really was Grosso and Melo material wasn't he? He was definatly the one that needed to go.

If I see Del Piero starting I'm going to be so furious, Real Madrid stopped relying on Raul to give there younger generation a chance.

We've now got rid of diego and giovinco just so we can give Del Piero a starting line up.

I don't want so splash big on Dzeko either, I've harldy ever see any big striker signing that cost a lot work out well. I remember when everyone was craving over Gilardino for his 2 seasons and look how he turned out to be?

In a way, yes.

I'm not even sure if we have the right players to play a single striker formation anyway.

I fear that our single striker (whoever it may be) is going to be completely neutralised a lot of times. To me, Diego seems like the kind of player who's always going to drop back deep, regardless of what role he is playing or who he is playing with.

So everyone is freaking out because of a Goal.com article and the fact that sky says there were discussions about a player not named Dzeko? (this was known since yesterday)

You guys are idiots.
