Is he said that he don't want to back to Germany? So if Marotta need to sell him, it probably to Spain or EPL. Since now there no news regarding club interested in him other than Hamburg so i wouldn't be worried, i believe he'll stay

I can't believe we want to sell this guy!

Even when he did play for werde bremen he scored once against ac milan and twice against udinese in the uefa cup. I still believe he could do well against italian teams. What did you guys expect from him, after being managed by ferrera and zach

chill out guys i don't believe he will be sold. in fact i think that marotta's comments were made by the newspapers.

firstly, one thing that delneri has is an eye for quality. he knows that diego is something special. in sampdoria this year cassano didn't play exactly in the SS position. he played more in a free role behind pazzini. i think that diego can also do this and hopefully delneri knows it.

secondly, even if delneri wanted diego out, i dont think that our board would do him this favor. diego is a big investment for juventus. why sell him after just one year? he even was good compared to the other players. i don't think that one coach, a not so good one to be totally honest, can make a team sell their best player.

Diego is not our best player.

You're right though in saying that 1 person (the coach in this instance) is not going to make this decision. Some sort of agreement will have to be found by all parties involved.

Apart from Cheillini and Buffon, Diego is one of our best players.
Fair enough. The way I see it we have 2 absolutely world class players: Buffon & Chiellini. You can add Trez, DP & Camo to that list as well if you want, but they're obviously on the way back.

I'd categorise Diego with players such as Marchisio, Sissoko, Poulsen, ... Fairly good players, but not exactly world beaters. Some of them could still turn out to be great obviously, Marchisio for example seems to be pretty close right now.

Now, whether or not Diego will turn out to be great, I don't know. I must admit that, despite our lacklustre season & despite him being a limited player, I've become somewhat fond of him (considering I did not like him at all back in his Werder days).

Personally, I would be perfectly ok with him staying. But I would also be perfectly ok with him leaving.

the man didn't fail. you are talking like he is grygera. in fact diego showed great signs of creativity and quality in some points of the season. we should protect him and want to keep him here like chiellini and marchisio...

exactly, he was one of the best out of a sorry bunch of players last season! One of the few working hard for the team despite our shit performances and lack of motivation.

He was tasked with doing more than any one player could handle due to the incompetence of our 'tacticians'. He was far, far too good for Bremen, to be now judged in the same bracket as Poulsen....that's madness! Amusing, but also insulting.

To get Aguero, yeh, why not eh??? But other than to get someone DEFINITELY better, no way.

I still think Del Neri won't want to lose him, also that Marotta sais nothing of the sort...and finally, that he could be used in a 4-4-1-1, adding reason to keep Giovinco...

I say we keep himn, I would only consider a swap deal with Kun
we all know DP can't play every game so I would play 4-2-3-1 with Diego behind the striker or play 4-4-2 with DP as a second striker
there is really no need to sell Diego but I doubt he can play as a striker

He can play as an SS in a 4-4-2 formation, as a trailing 2'nd forward in a 4-4-1-1 formation, and as the central attacking figure behind a lone striker in the 4-2-3-1 formation. I believe he is versatile enough and physical enough to do so. He also has the necessary skill set and vision to complement any striker, and he isn't slow either; he is definitely more mobile and agile than Del Piero. Hence, due to his abilities and versatility, I would definitely keep him and start him. You can't just give up on a player of his quality after a season in which everyone bar 2 or 3 individuals were mediocre. A player of his quality eventually shines through, regardless of this whole "fit the formation" BS being spewed by the media.

Selling him would be a huge fuck-up by marotta but I can't see us getting that "impressive offer" for Diego that he was talking about.
