what are you talking about he is our leading assist man is he not?

he crosses plenty but when he has useless wingbacks he is all by himself on the wing, do you even watch the games or see that he hasnt scored 1000 goals and critique the guy?
LOL now u ask about GOOD wings, man we are talkin about PLAYMAKER, he must CREATE CHANCES for his partners isn't it??why u try to blame our WINGS??how much assists he made this season??3-4??look @ ronaldinho for example....he have FAVALLI and ODDO as wingers and what???15 or more assists + 13 goals......i don't understand why people so blind to see that Diego gives nothin to our team..whole team bad but diego is gooood so LOL funny..... just because he have good ball control and runnin' from left to the right wing lol....this whole team playin like C class team.....

you dont even make sense, he has no support around him do you fail to see that?

he has no one to pass it to to him in the final third he has to do it himself.

That can not be denied.
What people object at though, is the fact that Diego was supposed to be the guy who'll make things happen, but he's not doing that. Something like Kaka in 2007/08 Milan. That team played just as bad as this year's Juve. But from time to time Kaka would have taken the ball in his legs and do something useful. Score, assist, win a penalty. We all know that Diego can't win us every match when the others are shit. And we don't expect him to. He can't win us every second, every third match either. But on some ~25 matches this year we played the way we played today and on none of those matches Diego saved us.
Take Del Piero until last year. Even when nothing worked he was able from time to time to win us a match with a single move. And Ale was 34.

We knew when we bought Diego that the team has to spin around him. No-one was doubting Diego's talent but I remember Vlatko doubting that Diego posses enough quality for the team to spin around him and that if the team is set that way, when Diego won't play well the team won't play either.
So what can we say now?
Is Diego good enough to be your team's main player? No, he's far away from Messi, Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Rooney etc.
Exactly and that is my whole gripe with him.

to everyone saying sell him, you are clearly delusional any player that has to run the ball from wing to wing, defense to attack is going to struggle, he will run into players, he will fuck up passes because of fatigue, due to the simple fact that he has to do everything.

he is one of the most talented players in our team, with the right backup he is WC, play the 4-2-3-1 and you will see the best possible diego, a fantastic player.

the fact he has done it this season when playing with such a bad ball playing team shows you his quality.

dont forget that that milan team still had a great regista did they not? there team can pass alen.

he isnt a one man team though he is a player that will provide that great ball, that great run but by himself its a big ask, given the right tools (giovinco for example) he could IMO.
Jury is still out on that.

How many assists does he have this season ? One website ( lms scouting) had a total of 3 and 5 goals.

some people here really dont bedazzle me with their utter nonsense!!

HOW CAN YOU GUYS SAY HE'S A FLOP WHEN HE PLAYS WITH THIS SHIT TEAM!!!

hes surrounded by centre backs that cant pass the ball so they just shoot it as far forwards as possible

hes surrounded by full backs that stink so bad in every aspect possible..they cant cross, shoot and leave acres of space behind

hes surrounded by cmfs that for some reason or another just seem to struggle and fail in posing their game and bossing the midfield

hes surrounded by the most static strikers european football has to offer

and finally not one coach has been here since diego arrived that has any clue what tactics to impose from game to game depending on the opponent and who somehow have instilled a loser mentality in this squad

at werder he excelled bcuz none of this bullshit we endure ever existed there with the likes of ozil, pizarro, naldo, frings etc.. who im sure would all witness to what a genius of a footballer he is

and finallyy lets not forget our medical staff are definitely undergrad biology/chemistry dropouts!!!

SO PLEASE SOMEONE TELL ME HOW HE'S CONSIDERED A FLOP!!!!

theres a huge difference between a flop and a player struggling and with all due respect i think its our team and fans that have let him down and not vice versa

Jesus Christ, some people here are really out of their minds. Diego gets constructive criticism, from some of the best posters here, yet the fanboys get all bent out of shape and say they blame him for our failure, why do they hate on him, etc. No one is hating or blaming him, bottom line is we bought him for certain ideas and things didn't quite work out. He's not the problem but damn sure is part of it.

I've decided to block out the statement "even Zidane would be shit in this team".

He's our most talented player technically, but a tactical conundrum. If we had stayed with 4-4-2 and a left winger I am pretty certain we would have more points at this stage, we can't really play through the middle against teams like Sampdoria and Palermo because all they do is get 5 or 6 men behind the ball, one or two come out to close Diego down and he either has to try a hard dribble or pass through or put it wide to Grosso or Zebina :)sergio:) and then hope their crosses get near our one centre forward. For this reason I agree with Suns that the only tactical system we should use with Diego is 4-2-3-1 but that requires Giovinco/AN Other, maybe Marchisio and Camoranesi to be fit.

From what we've seen from Diego so far this season, I think it's fair to conclude that he's a very talented player who just hasn't adapted well enough to Juventus or Serie A. I know it seems obvious that the main problem is the formation(4-3-1-2), but I believe it's more than just that. I don't even think that the 4-2-3-1 would make a world of a difference to be honest.

Diego is dangerous when he gets the ball in space. He's technically gifted and very skillful with the ball. The problem in my opinion is that our players just haven't performed up to standard and I just don't know why. You come to a point where it's not about the system anymore, and you just realize that our players are shit.

When Juve played against Roma in the first game of the season, we played a 4-3-1-2 and had a great game. We had another great game against Inter with the same formation. We also destroyed Sampdoria 5-1 n the first leg with that formation. So really, it's not the formation that decides whether we play good football or not, it's just a question of whether our players are performing well enough. They just aren't.

I know it's hard to believe that our players can be consistently bad for such a large part of the season but it does seem like the best explanation. I don't want to be harsh on Diego because I think genuinly believe he's very talented. But the truth is he is not performing up to standard. And when you have a team built around one player like the way we do; you absolutely need that player to step up each and every time. He isn't doing that.

Beleive or NOT...Diego need rapid and quality Side midfield Players...Our tactic too defensive...We played 2 Dmf and 1 Cmf or 1 Dmf and 2 Cmf. But Dmfs and Cmfs cannot help Diego :luckyluke: ...

Diego is a good and talented player...But not Messi or C. Ronaldo...DIEGO NEED QUALITY WINGERS!!! (such as Hazard,Silva,Capel,Mata,Simao,Krasic,Suarez etc...)

I can't believe that members here are saying Diego is a flop.
Of course he wasn't able to adapt in a team which is really really awful.

Having to bad fullbacks in the team and a weak defense doesn't make the team better. This team has a huge problems:
1-unappropriate coach
2-awful defense
3-weak bench
4-injuries on a daily basis

Just imagine the situation when Grygera assisted to an opposite player ... how do you expect Diego to be delighted . He is wasting his energy up front for what, for Grygera's indolence in the back of the field.
And having Grygera in the team or Molinaro , or even Grosso in several occasions was like waching 10 man Juve.
We can't expect good results while playing like a red carded team for most of the season (various combination we had Grygera or Molinaro or both of them ...).

Our terrible fullbacks will make any trequartista look terrible. First of all, the opposition is able to concentrate fully on the center of the pitch because we have no width and Diego, who roams the center, is swarmed. And even if he gets the ball, he has no where to pass laterally so again he is swarmed or he tries to dribble and get a foul or make a pass through 15 players directly to the net because our team only uses 1/3rd the width of the field.

The best is when he tries a give and go with Sissoko in the final third and the ball ricochet's off Sissoko's foot and lands on the moon.

In all seriousness, independent of him being a flop or a QUITE unpolished diamond, juve should bring the guy he asked them to from Werder Bremen, or someone with same qualities as Torsten Frings. The player himself... well I don't think that's possible.
