Here's to next season, may we invest 40-50M on defenders this summer...

I already spent way to much time talking up Diego yesterday on page 194, but I'm jumping in again to say...

There's no way this guy is a flop. He's just not. Our team is a mess, and there's such a thing as an adjustment period. Considering all of the shit that has gone down this year, in my opinion it's totally off base to target this guy. He's in the argument for our player of the year (obviously there aren't many options to choose from on this team), and when you consider last years inflated transfer prices... well, I thought it was a good deal then, and with an eye to the future, I think it's a good deal now.

Sorry to jump in, boys. It's 2AM here - I'm going to bed. Shit, isn't it almost 5am where you are Andy? Today's match is probably still eating you up, hmm? Get some rest, buddy. Oh, and nice finish by Dempsey - I don't think that one was Chimenti's fault... but I also doubt that Clint would have tried such a cheeky shot with Gigi in net (who am I kidding, I always think Gigi will stop everything - his lanky ass might have gotten to that one too). Night, all.

this mini squabble you guys are having is cute. However, if you are solely blaming Diego for our downfall and demise this season V, then you are sorely mistaken.

Zidane and Nedved both took time to settle and adjust in Serie A and lead the team to success, and back then Juventus had a far superior squad, board, coach, and mentality than they do today.

I've been away for a while camping out in the mountains, so I'm trying to catch up on the world. Caught the match today, though. Not a good ending to the week.

This is boring, you must have taken your pills this morning. You're not fun when you're not throwing insults like a spoiled bitch.

You not only don't understand anything about football, but you're also a liar. Prove what you claim.
I'll never get used to the fact an American thinks himself knowledgeable about football. Soccer, sorry. :howler: Those 70,000 posts, don't prove anything.

Give me a break, you calling anyone racist is downright ridiculous, not to mention hypocritical. I ain't got to prove nothing.

So you quote me, use a racist argument yourself and then don't provide any proof to your claims about me. :howler:

You couldn't make yourself look worse if you tried.

You aren't too bright.

This is for all the respected members who will no doubt call me out on this latest batch of posts. Andy, please skip to the end.

I'm NOT blaming Diego, that was invented by the teethbrusher. Look at my initial post, couple of pages back. It would be stupid and unfounded to blame him (alone) since he's having his first season and quite a few things have just gone shit for us, from the inept board, to coaches, injuries and overall under-par performance from a lot of our players. This whole episode was a response to Andy's (failed) attempt of provocation about Modric.

However, I don't want to see him shielded and exempt from criticism like a lot of people here are doing. Fact of the matter is, Diego was brought here with certain expectations and he has indeed FAILED on them. Our gameplay has not improved, our creativity and flair has not improved, not to mention created chances per game, have not gone up. Sure he can't do everything alone and he really doesn't have much to work with, but all those things were still expected of Diego. That is WHY we have bought him. Whether you classify that as a flop, mild under-achievement or "he's still the best out of this shit-lot", that is fine by me. Just don't go around blaming others for Diego's failure. Don't. His failure is his own, just like every other player's in this team and the team as a whole.

Then again if any of you want to see a light at the end of the tunnel and think of Diego's performace as that light, that's fine by me. I just don't see it that way. I'm not sad we spent 25 mil on him, he's talented and I'll save my personal final verdict on him after next season, but for this year, he doesn't get a passing grade. Like I said, being best out of this shit-pile, doesn't make you good, only less shitty and that isn't enough for me.

Diego = FLOP! FLOP! FLOP!

Vlatko is a total hypocrite considering every time Trezeguet fails he uses the argument that nobody helped him out.

The reason why I brought up Modric was because that guy whined that we got Diego over him, and looks like his ass is still dripping wet over it.

Well for Trezeguet that excuse makes sense.

If I'm gonna be honest, I'm glad Modric went to Tottenham. He's in a better leauge and under a bigger spotlight, getting praises from the likes of Ferguson. Not to mention it's doing him and my NT a world of good to play in the same team. So no, I'm not sad at all. Besides, wee never even had a chance to sign him, that was just a personal wish.

Now go away and take pictures of your balls with Burke and post them on the internet.

Like I said, total hypocrite.

And the guy can't produce any proof for any of his claims.

Vlatko is a total fraud, just like Modric.
