He started with the 4-3-1-2 this season, which is what most folk wanted.

He then changed to the 4-2-3-1, which most people then wanted.

What do you suggest now?


Personally, I don't think tactics are the major issue. I think the big problem is that all our systems are Diego dependent and he is inevitably taking some time to adjust to living and playing in a new country.

Once Del Piero is fit things will start to become clearly as to what Ferrara really wants the team doing and it will take some of the heat off Diego.


I think Ferrara has made very few mistakes so far this season, considering how inexperienced he is.

Diego obviously needs time to recpature the kind of form he showed consistently in kroutland...but that is not the biggest of our problems. Its the spirit and lack of organization, thoughout the team, which is killing us. And also the extreme bout of injuries we have suffered...lastly, I would say as equally cuplable as anything else is Ciro's inexperience...not just inexperience but lunacy.

Playing Tiago as a wide attacking midfielder was merely a hint of what he is capable of doing, when it really fucking matters...Putting a half fit DP in a position he has proven many times before, HE CANT PLAY.

That is not a calcluated risk, its a surefire way to lose a game. Its not the same as chucking on Immobile when we are chasing the game and trying to add bodies to the opposing box...that is a risk, open us up at the back more, open them up in attack more...etc etctetctct.
The DP decision was inexcusable, in no way justfiable, and I would not be horrified or critical of the board if they sacked him. Send him back to the youth team...

We spend big, I accept we are in a period of transition, but in terms of our performances, we have definitely gone backwards under Ciro. There is NO consistency, and a steadily worsening lack of passion and spirit. the team seems dejected...

Ciro chould have held his arms up after the game, avoided the bullshit about 'conceding when we had the better of the play'...and instead said 'i fucked up...IM FAILING...I WILL TRY HARDER OR RESIGN AS THIS CLUB DESERVES BETTER....'...

Diego merely echoed Buffon's criticisms, which have been coming thick and fast all season. They just didn't seem to matter so much when HE was saving us from defeats or draws, constantly.

The Juve manager position is not a bedding ground for managers to learn their trade. Its where managers earn to be when they have proven themselves elsewhere...We gave Ciro the chance. He has fucked it. Keep him with the youth set-up, lets look for a proper manager.

Good points there weedguru,but shouldn't we learn from our mistakes.
I mean ,we all don't have a single clue what was the turning point of the "Deschamps - our board divorce" ,but simply our board screwed it up
and the guy who is Juventino,the guy who won C.L. with us,the guy who took us in the worst possible moment in the long history of the club,and the guy who led Monaco into a C.L. final (experienced coach) was repeled.
Than we rapidly find a so called replacement for Didier which was the catastrophic solution ,I'm pointing at Ranieri.We have lost another season under him.
So what I'm trying to say is this:if we don't have an appropriate replacement for Ferrara we should not sack him.Sacking him is the easiest move,but the most complicated one is to find a good coach.
Mancini,Rijkaard,Van Basten or Speletti would be the same solution as Ranieri was,I mean same category.
So let me be straight if we can't bring Guus Hiddink and of course I think we can't because there are several clubs infront of us when it comes to chasing a coach (real madrid, manchester city, liverpool they are high spenders and they all need or may want a caoch) we should not "darn" the coach place.
Both Gaperini and Prandelli are not available and they're not the best if we want the best results.

If anything, I reckon we present a greater challenge. The dutchman is motivated more by the challenge, than solely the financial aspects of a job.

Unless we have someone lined up, we must stick with Ciro. Agreed. However...I do not think that Gasperini isn't available. Perhaps his pride and sense of loyalty would prove obstacles, but we are Juve, not Genoa, and the chance may not come along for him to manage a top club, for a very long time, especially if Genoa don't repeat their magnificent achievements of last season.

Our problems are nothing to do with discipline. I hardly think the players are unruly...Our inability to gain any semblance of form and consistency is down to tactical incompetence and inexperience, horrible injuries and most worryingly of all, a failure to create a decent spirit in the squad.

Two of those are down to Ciro. He can't help the injuries though...

There is an issue with motivation, look at the performances of idividual players, they need a fire lit under them, an Ciro can't do that.

ranieri was a step into the right direction, he did bring a solid fundament into the squad (and cant be blamed if ferrara thinks it would be wise to destroy that and change everything at once).

it was right to sack him, when we did it and i do not know why anyone can hate on ranieri or the board for the time he was with us. nobody (no coach) more experienced and with a bigger name would have even considered us as his next destination and the choice we made with ranieri did bring us into the right direction. remember the five year plan. finishing second last season and the strong outings in the champions league pretty much indicated we was in the schedule.

Look at some previous posts from the page before,it all started from the idea that we should not sack Ferrara if we don;'t have a decent replacement in plan (but someone from the Guus category).We made that mistake by letting Didier Deschamps without getting the first one available which was Ranieri.

Juventus boss Ciro Ferrara claims the Bianconeri's big summer signing, Brazilian star Diego, doesn't always follow his orders on the pitch.

Diego joined Juventus from Werder Bremen in a £25m transfer, but after a bright start his performances have failed to live up to expectations.

Some pundits have suggested that Ferrara's apparent inability to settle on a formation has caused Diego confusion and that the 24-year-old has yet to find his best position in the side.

Juventus slumped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat away to Cagliari yesterday, allowing Inter, who beat Fiorentina 1-0 at San Siro, to move eight points clear at the top of Serie A.

“He has the desire to play many balls as a characteristic and so he often retreats, tracking back to get them,” Ferrara said after the game.

“But he also has to work on the aspects asked of him by the trainer. I am sure that he will improve.

“Above all in the first half I encouraged Diego to try and find more penetration. It has not been his problem alone, but also that of Marchisio, for example.

“Diego is a great player. I will continue to spur him on until he gets closer to goal and becomes decisive there,” Ferrara concluded
