And we all know that those who ridiculed him are "always right"
I don't even remember who was Vlatko arguing with but I remember the debate very well. It was also about "Modric or Diego?". Vlatko chose Modric, listed Modric's qualities, Diego's qualities and flaws (I believe V was saying that Diego is a player you must set the team around and he's not worthy enough to set the team around him), said why he thinks it will be better to go with Modric than Diego and little by little it grew up into an argument which ended up with Howler smilies by V's opponents whenever the "Biased Vlatko" dared to say that Diego is far from the player he's presented to be.

All those details and name callings and the use of smilies and you don't remember who it was? :lol2:

Ya i remember that too, the main opponent was Andy, even though many others ridiculed Vlatko for his opinions. :D

It started way before that, in some random thread. My initial point was never Modric is better than Diego, it was Modric is a more complete player and more suited for us. Than after being laughed at by people who saw Modric play two times in their lives and me getting irritated all hell broke loose.

Fact is those people who were pro-Diego, expected him or wanted him to be our Kaka. Which he wasn't and never would be. Buying someone like Modric who makes the whole midfield tick was and still is IMO far better than buying a free-scoring trequartista who needs the whole team playing for him to shine. Even in that respect Diego failed, since when we bought him the team was tailor-made for him. Just that it never ticked like it should have. Surely Diego isn't the only one to blame, but people are too blind to see in a very short time we changed our whole approach and game plan to suit him, yet it didn't work.
