I wouldn't say no creativity. If we bought Krasic and a decent left wing and played either DP or Martinez in the supporting striker role (apparently his best position) then that would still be decent service for a WC striker. We would definitely notice is a difference without Diego though.
The position he plays in our 4-4-2 is the closest thing there is to an attacking midfielder in that formation. To play as one of the centre mids he would need to be better at defending.
I wouldn't mind us selling Diego for a large sum and using it smartly to upgrade our other areas. DP/Martinez can cover the SS role if we get smart LB and there's a good midfield. Maybe we would even go for Cassano for around 20 millions. Anyways, I don't think Diego is so vital to this team, he's replaceable, but not for 16 millions Volkswagen are offering.
