Yes. To win the league you have to prove yourself over 38 games not 15 like in the Champions League, you could even win the Champions League by playing easy teams to the final. The League should always be the priority.

Indeed it is. However just because you have the best squad does not automaticly assume you will win the competition. I was annoyed by the level of performances in the two years Capello was here in Europe however we won two League titles so I cannot say he was a failure here.
