I cant be critical of Diego... He is a class player but he has no one in the team helping him out... He tries to do too much because no one else is doing anything constructive...

If he had some decent support around him we would improve dramatically... We need at least 4-5 new players...

I love DP and Trez but this combo is ten years old... Sadly it is time to move on... Amauri is too inconsistent and one dimensional and the other guy upfront well I forget his name he is that good...

We need at least a couple of changes at the back, couple more in the middle and a couple upfront... This squad is very unbalanced!

But to start I guess we need a coach! :D

What was with taking him off for Zebina? :wth:

He wasn't great but I have more complaints about his team mates than I do about him. He needs some width, or at least for the other attacking players to RUN.

I posted this in the match thread but it will probably get lost in there.

What is Diego supposed to do when Del Piero isn't on top form, Camoranesi is injured, Amauri is injured, we don't have wingers, and our fullbacks don't get forward with any effectiveness?

He's not some kind of magician that can magic the ball into the opponents' net all on his own, but he is a very good playmaker.

Diego always has three men around him when he's got the ball. Sneijder has the luxury of having fullbacks who can actually play the game of football, not those spending a night at a Holiday Inn and getting time out there for Juventus.

Just look at the way we play the game. Nobody out there provides any sort of direction or clue in possession apart from Del Piero and Diego. How can folks blame him?

How can you create if our other players are static and cant make a simple one two pass?? Ronaldinho has pato/huntelar/borrelio /abata all making runs ...hell even pirlo/seedorf /beckham provide support... if diego was in his place he would have made those numbers easy..

Its not only the support thats our problem.. we have no tactics. If you watch even smaller teams they at least have a couple plays up their sleeves that they pull... we just hang on and pray to god something happens... ffs chillinei has been providing more support then our midfielders and full backs... we def need a rehaul and need to build our team around diego/gio/momo/melo / chillinei...

The injury crisis is killing us.. Its been brutal on everyone. This is the same squad that played the past 6 games in 3 weeks. Del Piero has been playing 90 min twice a week so has Diego, Chiellini, Melo, De Cegli..etc Something's gotta give.

Camo got injured again and Marchisio was suspended.

Some of you are blaming De Cegli, well he is our best man on the left side and he plays his heart out. I'd give him a break. Same goes to Diego, he is playing ok but he could do much more with a side that is fresh and can move better. Ofcourse having better players is always a plus.
Diego did not return back to life until Del Piero got back from injury. They do know how to work together. But without having subs to give them enough rest time they won't be able to excel.

Just look at our bench against Palermo, honestly who would you bring in beside Paolucci for Trezeguet? Noone. Giovinco, Camo, Marchisio, Amauri, Iaquinta and Buffon are missing. Heck, even below average players who may help u out when a player is tired like poulsen are missing too.

Is it? Really? I mean, if we had a full squad, who do you think would have played yesterday? Probably Camoranesi but thats about it. We're not strong enough.

I must admit that during the good times I wanted him to simplify his game more. He hogs the ball too much and doesn't make runs into space as often. During the bad days ( like last night) I can't fault him much but we still hope he could spark something.

Don't you think Amauri, Iaq, camo and marchi would make a difference? Hell even bloody caceras would've made a difference last night.

That is a pretty fair assessment.
But I would add that his decision making leaves a lot to be desired.
