I think he'll stay, should he move, it will depend how much real are ready to pay for him (we all know real don't really need him, and should they buy huntelaar for example, i don't think they'll splash that much money for 2 youngsters.), and then i'd say, should he be willing to move and the real-deal collapse, we can get into the game.
.....spalshing 20 or 30 million euros on 3-4 new players is no big deal for madrid......

Having had as much as a week out of the spotlight, the father of Werder Bremen star Diego is at it again: this time he's claiming that Arsenal, Real Madrid and Juventus are the three clubs after his son's signature.
The persistent talk regarding the future of Bremen's No10 seems to be having a major effect on the team's on-field performances.
Both the Brazilian and the Green-and-Whites in general have been a shadow of themselves of late: level with Bayern Munich at the start of February, a disastrous run of form has seen them crash out of the UEFA Cup and drop to fifth in the Bundesliga.
The 2-1 home defeat to relegation-threatened Duisburg last Saturday was a real low point and another defeat this weekend, away to Hertha Berlin, could see the Weserstadion outfit fall to seventh.
Time To Get Out?
It seems that despite being under contract at the club until 2011, Diego is now prepared to seek his fortune elsewhere. Djair da Cunha, Diego's father and agent, told German newspaper Bild: "I'm not happy about the situation in Bremen. Diego's dream is to win the Champions League.

"We accept the contract he has with Werder and Diego will behave professionally," he continued, before adding: "We'll wait until July. There has been a lot of speculation - not all of it is true. But Real, Arsenal and Juve all want my son. Juve sporting director Alessio Secco has already been to Bremen to talk with (Werder sporting director) Allofs."

Internally, Bremen believe they will succeed in hanging on to their star player this summer before letting him go in 2009. But Bild speculate that if an offer of around €30m is made this summer a deal could be done. As the newspaper points out, Miroslav Klose was also marked by the club as not for sale until Bayern Munich put down an offer of €15m.

Spending more than half our transfer money on one player is not very smart . We have gaps in all areas , we need a backup CB , a decent LB , a backup right RB , a striker , a Nedved replacement etc... we can't spend more than half our budget on one player , Juve don't have the kind of luxury they used to have .
Diego is great but buying him at that price would mean sacrificing a lot more than we could afford to . If we had to buy him , we would have to throw in a few players with the deal such as Tiago, Almiron , Marchionni .. All in all , im not sure if it's really worth it .
