LB much easier to get!!! Name me few affordable LBs as good as Chiellini to start with.
You can't find not so many good as Chiellini, but Vargas wouldn't be so expensive, he's decent, and he wouldn't be expensive as Barzagli for example, if you wanna play Giorgios as LB.

P.S. Vargas is not my favourite thou, but it's the firs decent LB I got on my mind...

...and we still have Criscito , who plays that role in U21...

But topic is DIEGO guys...come on... :)

Some here see Giorgio as a full back some think he's better as a centre back.
I share the opinion of the "centre back" backers.
I think it was back in the u-21 last summer when i watched him play CB and i remember i discussed this back then with Andy who was also impressed by Giorgio's 5 star performance as a CB.
I believe that we have a potential world class centre back in Chiellini. He's a fighter, he's charismatic (well, maybe not so much but he sure knows how to attract attention when he loses his mind :D) and he's reading the game incredibly well for such a young and still inexperienced defender. He's doing great atm, what can we expect then in some 6 or 7 years when central defenders usually peak ?

As a left back he's not bad at all. But somehow i never trusted tall guys, rather clumsy with the ball at their feet when they are in full speed, to cover the wing-back position. Also, he's not a technical player ( i think that Molinaro is more technical than Chiellini) and i don't want my fullback to rely mostly on power and strenght.
Vargas from Catania has great characteristics to become a very good/world class LB, i agree with MileMidzata on this one.
If Vargas plays for a great team and is coached by a great coach, then he'll be one of the best. In Catania he's spending much more time in attack then he should and he leaves his side exposed (something similar to what Alves does in Sevilla). But he's a good defender and with a good coach we can get the full product if we buy him.
He's my personal favorite for LB, i must admit.

IMO, no need to transfer Chiellini again at LB. Since he's doing brilliant job where he is we don't need to fix the broken by braking another thing.
If we need a replacement for Molinaro then we must buy a new LB, not search for one among our current players who play well in different position atm.

P.S: Sorry for off topic. I stop here :)

De Silvestri is a RB.

Vargas will be in demand this summer. Pasqual is good, excellent crosses.
Yes but we ned allso a RB, right? Biri is geting old, Zebo is injured or geting cardet, Grygera-hmmm-don't no...so yeee i'll go for De Silvestri too...
If we could get Pasqual that would be SUPER...like u said, his got excellent crosses, he is very quick, good defender, good technick (reminds me of Zambro)...so yeee that would be very, very good for us...but there is a problem...and that is yes u guessd it right - our MANAGMENT...

Nice defence, don't u think?

De Silvestri - Mellberg - Chiellini - Pasqual

EDIT: OFF TOPIC...

not bad Pingo, you think Mellberg will be a starter? I'd start with Legro just by respect and I still don't know what will happen with Andrade.

De Silvestri is a MUST BUY for the long run. Zebina can still do the job if he stays away from injuries.

end OT

Diego's name is more and more linked to Juve.

He'll go to Bayern. :p

yeah but he can't play the whole season there. He can't cross with his left so he'd be forced to stop and cross with the right. It's necessary to play on the right if you're a righty and the left if a lefty.

Why does everyone keep forgetting about De Ceglie? I believe he has what it takes...
I don´t think he is ready yet.

how do you know that he is no good? i mean palermo has very bad season, but it is not all his fault...1 player cant stop anything....
Barzagli is a good defender but nothing amazing, special, etc... I think that is a more appropriate description of him. He wouldn´t be a bad signing but he also won´t be a new Juve legend. Mellberg and Barzagli are practically in the same class. On the other hand, Zapata, well now that´s a different story.

I think so, Legro is playing OK @ the moment, but he's got concentration problem...I see Mellberg in front of him (like the unshaven beard -looks more terrifying )...Legro whit Criscito will be the back up for the Mellberg and Chiellini...Andrade, i known than and i know now, when we sign him that he is injury "related", so i would sell him...

btw, i've seen de silvestri play LB a few times due to injuries at lazio.
He can play any where in the defence, allso in CD position....But yes, he is more effectiv on the right side...

OT END...

Juventus chiefs agree to throw bank at Diego
January 29, 2008

Juventus chiefs are agreed that Werder Bremen ace Diego is their No1 target for the summer market.

Juve coach Claudio Ranieri sees Diego as 'his Gianfranco Zola', while club supremo John Elkann regards the Brazil ace as the 'new Michel Platini'.

Elkann has discussed signing Diego with sports director Alessio Secco and is prepared to throw £20 million at Werder to make the deal happen, says Controcampo.

Ranieri is ready to shake-up his playing system to complement Diego, while Juve's board are prepared to offer a five-year deal worth £2 million-a-season.

With Real Madrid having gone cold on Diego's trail, intermediaries have told Juve they have a free run at the midfield schemer.

come on lets wrap this transfer up! we could become real scudetto challengers with Diego in our team. He is still young, has shown he can adapt to different styles of football and can do that something special to change a game (which we really need, as shown by the Samp game)

i really think its worth breaking the bank for him. Ranieri said that VDV is not a juve style player because he talks too much, well Diego is perfect he has quietly gone about his job at Bremen amist this transfer speculation. Ranieri has no excuses.

Toni, Trappatoni and everyone else who watches the Bundesliga has said that he is a true star. How many more people do we need to tell us to sign him!?

my only hope is that with us signing Sissoko and having plenty of DM we are preparing to sign him, by already building our team to suit him.
