Juventus chief Secco planning Diego bid

Juventus are planning a January move for Werder Bremen midfield ace Diego.

Tuttosport

Secco plans to fund their bid for Diego with the sale of Argentine midfielder Sergio Almiron.

Diego revealed today: "When I was still at Santos I was contacted by Juve. It fascinated me the idea of playing alongside Alessandro Del Piero, then, unfortunately, the negotiations ran aground."

you be right mate!

Not quite sure if the sale of Almiron would give us the cash...we may need to add Olivera and Boumsong as well...maybe then the cash would cover half of what Diego would cost us.

Nonetheless, always nice to hear rumours as such...

I have a feeling we have the cash to splash on a big name, we didn't use it up coz it was too big of a gamble in the summer, seeing we were blind of our own competitiveness.

But now we know where we are and who we really need.

We need someone in January desperately, and Diego would be perfect!
no team is willing to sell an important asset in the middle of the season because of the difficulty of finding a replacement as I'm sure you know (at least not if they can help it)

VDV, Diego, Quaresma, Lampard all these important players to their teams are off limits in the winter.

in the summer is another story.
