Bremen's Diego eyes Juve switch
Brazil international Diego has admitted that he hopes to secure a move to Italian giants Juventus at the end of the season. The Werder Bremen playmaker has attracted the attention of a host of elite European clubs after impressive displays in the German top flight this season.
Diego joined the Bundesliga outfit from Portuguese outfit FC Porto in 2006 and is currently the club's top scorer with nine league goals in 18 appearances.
Juve are reported to be interested in acquiring the 22-year-old, and the player is keen to move to Claudio Ranieri's outfit.
"I am very interested in moving to Turin," Diego told Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport. "But Juve has to negotiate directly with Werder.
"If both teams reach an agreement there will be no obstacles - there will be no problems with my contract."
However, Diego, who is under contract at Bremen until June 2012, insisted that he would only consider leaving Bremen if the German outfit were willing to negotiate his departure.
"The Juve executives must know that I am happy at Bremen and that I will not go to war with my club," he continued.
"It wouldn't be correct considering this club has helped me grow as a player.
"I feel valued in the Bundesliga but I am ready to measure myself in a different league."
