It`s vdV since his name is van der Vaart and not Van der Vaart. :p

And yeah he`d be cheaper.I guess around 20mln euros.I`d prefer any of those two over Lampard though.
Actually it is Van der Vaart since no first name is mentioned, but it's Rafael van der Vaart.

Diego 'Dream Liga, Serie A and Premier but decides Werder'

19:27, 12 April

The jewel of Werder Bremen Diego confesses it in a long interview at the Spanish "AS". The midfielder believes that Werder will play the next Champions League. "I believe we will succeed. If not go away if we go in Champions? No, it is not essential. I was with the team in victories and defeats.

One of the greatest friends of Diego's Robinho, who at this moment is not going through a good time in Madrid. "Yes, I spoke of its propblemi. If we talked about the possibility that I go to Madrid?. 'Somewhat' difficult for me to speak of if the Real Real is not about me. Must comply with the two clubs. Were said many things after Schuster said that they appreciate my game and volermi there. non But then nothing happened. have to be very careful because anything I say on the Real can be misunderstood in Germany. "I am well in Germany

- has also continued -. Few newspaper wrote that I was tired, but it is not. Much respect I have for this club but it is also true that I admire other leagues such as Spanish, Italian or English. Spanish Football is closer to Brazilian football. I have a contract until 2011. 'Clearly, it says something that is true. There are concrete deal, but I still have three years of the contract. Out of a possible sale are not alone decide . arrive If an offer is advantageous to me that the club could then start negotiations. "

Diego then draws up his list of preferences. "In Italy there are club with extraordinary fans calorosissimi, which unfortunately are creating some problems. Now Spain and England are somewhat 'at the top."

we should get him, only stupid ones cant see that
I cant understand why we still go for amauri when we def. need someone like Diego. I know we shall have extra 8 games in CL but..still I dont think we can expect anything in CL from young guns which will be available..We need someone very solid..
Do they really think Tiago will get better?

Well one should never say never. But i agree that chances to signing him are very near zero. There are a lot of reasons and they've all een pointed out in this thread. At least for this season. He still has too much contract-time left for any other team to persuade werder of at least starting negotiations. In 1 or 2 years, Diego will still be young, and his contract will start to reach it's end... until then, i think diego will go on with werder (sadly)

Inter Line-Up Brazilian Duo

Inter Milan are preparing a double swoop for Diego and Amantino Mancini, according to reports in Italy.

galleria zoom The Nerazzurri’s two main objectives for this summer’s transfer market will be a left midfielder and a creative centre midfielder.

With Luis Figo set to leave when his contract runs out in June, Inter have been linked with a host of replacements, including Arsenal’s Alexander Hleb and Sevilla’s Diego Capel.

However they are now said to be looking very closely at Roma’s Amantino Mancini.

The winger’s contract at the Stadio Olimpico runs out in 2009, and he is almost certain to leave in the summer unless he signs a new contract in the next month or so.

An added bonus is that Mancini would be able to leave for as little as €5m, if he chooses to execute a new FIFA transfer clause.

In the centre of midfield, Inter are looking to add a bit of creativity as they hope to finally make an impact on the Champions League.

Il Giornale says that Werder Bremen’s Diego, who is also wanted by Real Madrid, could be the man they are looking for.

The former Santos star would not come cheap though, and could cost in the region of €30m.

Diego is one of the most player I've ever wanted. But why really insist? He has stated that 10x now that he's into Real Madrid more than anything. And he'd rather stay with Bremen than play in Serie A or EPL.

Let him go.
