Diego Maradona, once the king of Napoli, announced that he intends to crown his dream of working with the club that made him a football God with De Laurentiis.

Napoli and Juve have played many epic matches in the past...

"Yes, I remember in particular a game played 21 years ago. It was my second season with the Napoli shirt. It was november, like now, and it rained that day. At San Paolo Juventus had the chance to break the record for consecutive victories, eight I believe. It was 0-0 till halfway the second half. Then we get a free kick inside the area, with a human wall in front of me. I hit the ball softly, and the ball looks certain to fly over the bar, but instead, like magic, it goes down at the last moment beyond Tacconi's outstretched arm. Still whenever I meet Stefano today he asks me how the hell I managed to score that goal. I answer saying that I am Maradona, but in fact not even I know exactly how I scored that one, critics said it was an "impossible" goal."

Would you ever have played in Serie B, Diego?

"For Napoli I would have played anywhere, and I admire the players of Juventus that didn't leave the club just because they were relegated because of their management."

Next year this match might be played in very different circumstances...

"I'm sure of it. Both Juve and Napoli will reach the Serie A. And I would like to be present that day at the party. Yes, I will be there."

As a spectator?

"No, much more than that. In any case, before I finish my career in football and retire, my desire is to work for Napoli. I have talked about it with the president and with Ciro Ferrara."

But Ferrara works for Juventus...

"If the great Napoli project would become a reality, and I don't see why it shouldn't, even Ciro would return with us to work for the club of his hometown."

And what would you want to do?

"On what I could do the decision is up to the president. I don't just want to be the image man. On what I would want, I have already said it before. My dream would be to work with the children of Napoli who want to get out of the often harsh realities of their lives through football."

cuz he was never as consistent as those players were. He has world class attitude and even talent but those like those.

anyway good on Diego wanting to go back to Napoli and help the team regain its status.

Pele in 2000 is only good for Viagra ads.

But yes football style has changed quite a bit, but what Pelé did back then was unbelievable, just like Diego was in the late 80s. Ale has the talent, and the attitude, and he is a legend for Juve, sadly not so for the rest of the world.

The nice thing is that they think all of their youngsters are future legends, but their media burn them as soon as they start to mature...
