If we are to get rid of Tiago and/or, spend less than 15mil for forlan and buy krasic a CB and starter LB, whilst avoiding spending money on crappy Italian forwards like quaq and Pazzini, then forlan is welcomed to give a try in Italy!
But we should not at any case spend any more than12mil cash on him, or a useful player that must be recovered.

you truly cannot question the mans scoring ability,YES he did not prove succesful at Manure but he was a young guy,moving to a new continent where the weather is fucking pish,cloudy,cold and rainy. Forlan at Manure was still a talent in progress and it never worked for him

however since then he has proven his worth,he has finished as European Golden Boot winner twice,in teams that were not realistic title challengers. i have been massively impressed with him over the last 3-4 years,he scores with his left and he scores with his right. sure he is a little older than what i had hoped for but with Folran we an get rid of Amauri/iaquinta.
i would love to get Dzeko but that looks less likely with every passing day,forlan would compliment our team and he would score goals,no doubt about it

El uruguayo Diego Forlán, Balón de Oro del reciente Mundial de Sudáfrica, afirmó en una entrevista con el diario brasileño Lance que está "feliz" en el Atlético de Madrid y que aspira a continuar en la plantilla del equipo español.

"Tengo otros tres años de contrato, estoy feliz, me encuentro muy bien en el club y mi intención es seguir", declaró en la entrevista que publica hoy el periódico deportivo carioca.

Tras la gran actuación del futbolista uruguayo en el Mundial de Sudáfrica, se han desatado varias especulaciones sobre su futuro e incluso se afirmó en la prensa italiana que el Juventus pretende presentar una oferta concreta por su ficha.

En el caso del equipo italiano, el presidente del Atlético de Madrid, Enrique Cerezo, ha desmentido que haya habido algún tipo de contacto y recalcado que el club no tiene interés en transferir a ningún jugador, aunque tampoco descartó que pueda ocurrir.
En la entrevista con Lance, el delantero sólo comentó que algún día querría jugar en el São Paulo, de Brasil, club en el que su padre y también futbolista, Pablo Forlán, militó entre 1970 y 1976.

"Estaría encantado (de jugar en el São Paulo) y sería un sueño, por todo lo que mi padre hizo ahí", declaró Forlán, quien solamente indicó que "si un día tuviera la oportunidad, sería realmente muy emocionante".

It is not that hard to score in italy. People over rate Italy big time. Di Natale scored a shit load of goals but I doubt he would have scored as many in the EPL. Zlanta used to score for fun in Italy but then oculd never score in the CL. Forlan was not a starter at Man Utd, he was behind RVN in the pecking order so how can you expect him to score regularly?

Forlan would walk into our team and score more goals then Amauri and Iaquinta ever could. It is not smart to think that, a guy who has been so consistant in goal scoring for so many years now is not a good finisher.

I'm not going to say Juve should sign Forlan, but basing your judgement of him on his time at Man Utd would make about as much sense as basing your view of Henry on his time at Juve.

I don't agree, Henry was never really given a fair chance to show his ability.

Forlan had plenty of chances and 3 seasons with United, two of which he had more than 20 league appearances to show his worth at United. I also remember a period where RVN was injured for almost two months, in which Forlan had plenty of time to play, he didn't make anything out of it.

I think Forlan is a good player nonetheless, i think he has matured and improved in Spain and would probably do well in United if given another chance. But it would be wrong to say he didn't flop at United, because he was given opportunities but he didn't take them.

For the sake of the argument, lets say that at 22, when Villa played for Sporting Gijon, he went to Manchester United which had RVN and flopped. Was that gonna mean that now Villa isn't the player to buy?

In football that would be true for players we don't know. But when you read that someone scored ~150 goals in the last 6 years in one of the 3 strongest leagues in the world, then nothing really remains hidden, especially when everyone watched the player in question.
