I'll give you a hand on the first one. Do you know the dimensions of A4 paper? If no, google them. I read somewhere most paper is 1mm thick. Check post count, mulitply by thickness, calculate height. Prerequisites: the ability to multiply and to divide.

This reminds me of a test question I got in high school:

A six year old is playing at the beach. He has a bucket full of water, which he dumps back into the sea. By how much does the sea level rise because of this?

No worries - that's exactly how it would be worded by a high school teacher.

The correct answer is of course dependant on whether you mean the instantaneous water level at that point or the global time average or something else between. :wink:
