goat doesn't hate dp and neither the people who want him sold. They're using logic and their heads rather than their hearts and sentiments, and we all know that in football you don't win with the latter.

moreover, u need a player to handle the ball under pressure.

so i think DP-DV is better than DP-DT.

and concerning juve selling DP, now way man, he has just signed out a new contract with juve:cool:!!!

Couldn't have put it better myself. Remove the shrouds of sentiment from before your eyes, people.

Well Zidane, Vialli, Baggio, Peruzzi, etc were all liked but still sold.

Still DP won't be sold cos it wouldn't make sense to offer him such a high contract and then sell him immediately after.

I think Del P is a great player and is arguably the best supporting striker in the world. not a typical number 9 or a 10 he is more of 9.5.
Guys he only played a handful of games this season and he preformed well, give him a chance and see how his preformance will be after a few games.

oh.my.god. *taking a deep breath*

so for the ones who wants dp to be sold- you guys want the cash and you could invest in more, whatdoyoucallit, promising players eh?

1. Del Piero - bandiera. Other players - we dont know yet.
2. Del Piero - doing well for the club. Other players - might not fit in well and just suck and get their head blown off.
3. Del Piero - willing to take a pay cut. Other players - some are big headed. Zlatan ibrahimovic for e.g.
4. Del Piero - captain, works well with team, earns full respect. Other players - undecided yet.

as you can see, taking another player (or playerS) and selling one of juve's most valuable assets is a too much of a risk to be taken, and if it fails to succeed might just fail the club.

we could just sell zala or davids or iuliano or tudor or whoever and get the cash and invest in one or two players who are good but don't cost much. besides, juve is a club that does not rely on big names.

Here's my honest opinion on Del Piero.

I feel that he is still a high-quality player, but he's not one of the best in Serie A or in the world anymore.

Age, injuries (especially) look like they are beginning to take their toll, especially since Serie A is a very physical league.

Is he an asset to this team? Of course, but for the future of the club, he may be more of an asset as a sellable commodity on the transfer market.

Juve always needs to keep an eye on the future, as this club is lacking depth and youth in several key areas, most notably central defense, right back, and an eventual successor for Nedved.

It makes sense to Juve to make a move with him, and who knows, maybe deep down inside, DP would welcome a change to a less rigorous leauge such as the EPL or La Liga in order to extend his career.

Alex will always be a member of a great lineage in the last 20 years of players who have worn the jersey, but like Rossi, Platini, Baggio, Vialli, Zidane, they all moved on, and Juve always found players to replace them.

I think that a big reason for the passion that a lot of you have, and please don't take this the wrong way, for it's not meant to be degrading or condescending, is that a lot of these people here on the forum are young, and DP may be the reason that you became a Juve supporter in the first place, and seeing him go would be terrible. I don't blame you.

But for the benefit of the club, there may not be a better opportunity to secure the future of this franchise for the next 6 years. Juve, for better or for worse (I feel, for the better) operate under stricter financial guidelines than some of the other large teams in the world, so they just can't go out and buy whomever they want and not worry about their books. Just take a look at what may happen to some of the other Large teams in serie A such as Milan, Lazio, Inter, and especially Roma, who may be in very deep financial trouble if the EU intervenes as is rumored.

This team never goes out and spends money extravaggantly without giving something back in return.

Example- Zidane, turned into Nedved, Thuram, and Buffon.

There's my 2 cents, don't spend it all in one place;)

no offence, that's just doesnt look good ;)

Salih isnt good in defending, and lucio isnt better than Legro.
Van der vaart is better than Jankulovski. Miccoli is better than Marec atm

Salih is good at defending (maybe not like Thuram but he's up there with Zambi as he has played wing back in Bayern), Lucio is better than Legro (actually Lucio is one of the best centre backs in the world, but this formation would not permit him to attack), there is no chanche we'd get VDV, and Miccoli can not play centre midfield.

We're talking realisticly here DJ

We could probably sell DP for an over inflated price to Chelski (some 30-40 mil €)

Get Lucio for 14
Get Jankulovski for 7
and Get Salih 15

All n all 36 mil, and lets make it 40 just in case.

We can get 40 for DP.

If you sell a great player like DP and get three very good players in return, I'll take the 3 very good players over 1 great player anyday.

BTW, Nedved is the heartbeat of this club, IMO.

There's a reason why Lippi hasn't rested him yet, although he needs to eventually, and that's probably because Lippi feels that Nedved is the motor of this machine, and a lot of the attack flows through him.

Anyways, Inter do have a symbol, it's Javier Zanetti.

And Juve would have a new symbol. Symbols come and go, it used to be Platini, Baggio, now DP and in the future it would be Nedved, or Buffon, or Mico, or Zambi...
