I also think that Iaquinta was a better investment. He is younger and is having a good season with Juve so far. He has played fewer games than DP and yet almost has the same amount of goals.

Juve Want Zapata – Report

Juventus are lining up a summer transfer bid for Udinese star Cristian Zapata, however his transfer fee could complicate any deal.

Colombian centre back Zapata has been a rock at the back for Udinese this campaign, and has made 21 Serie A appearances, helping the club into sixth place in the table.

Juventus, having been impressed by Arsenal’s performance against Milan the other night, are also looking to build their future on young players.

Zapata is a player they greatly admire, however his €20m asking price is regarded as too expensive by sporting director Alessio Secco.

Secco may be prepared to offer promising youngsters Paolo De Ceglie and Davide Lanzafame in exchange in order to lower the price.

Zapata’s agent yesterday confirmed that Juve, along with a host of other top clubs, were interested in his client.

“A lot of the transfer market voices that you hear with regard to Zapata are just rumours,” Daniele Vidal said

“However, I can confirm that there are a number of scouts looking at him. People from Juventus, Milan, Inter, Fiorentina and also English clubs.”

The player himself though, whose contract with the Zebrette runs out in 2012, seems intent on staying in Udine for at least another season “I'll still be playing for Udinese next season.” he declared.

can be effective back-up to Ale...actually geting him would make more sense than geting Amauri, Vinnie already has the role of the goal poacher

He would be cheaper then Amauri (or should be), and if it meant keeping Iaquinta, I would prefer it.

But should be backup choice or surplus target after he deal with the rest. Because whats 10 times more important is the player I checked this thread for, his teammate Zapata.

Quaglia sacks agents
Thursday 22 May, 2008

Udinese striker Fabio Quagliarella has decided to fire his two agents and is reportedly close to signing with Alessandro Moggi.

According to Tuttomercatoweb.com, the Italian international has decided to end his relationship with agents Danilo Caravello and Silvio Pagliari because his dream is to play for Juventus.

Alessandro Moggi, son of former Juventus director general Luciano Moggi, would then be the right man to help him leave the Zebrette for the Old Lady.

The Castellammare-born striker moved to Friuli last summer from Sampdoria and scored 12 goals in 37 appearances this season.

Juventus have already shown interest, with President Giovanni Cobolli Gigli willing to bring him to the Olimpico. However, an exchange deal involving Paolo De Ceglie fell through.

Now it will have to be seen whether Udinese will be keen to see their star man leave, since Toto Di Natale is also reportedly planning to depart in the summer.

If Il Quaglia were to move to Juventus he would follow in the footprints of Vincenzo Iaquinta, who left Udine for Turin just one year ago.

Claudio Ranieri would then be able to count on a world-class strike force formed by Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet, Iaquinta and potentially Amauri and Quagliarella.

"Alessandro Del Piero, David Trezeguet, Iaquinta and potentially Amauri and Quagliarella."

Not to mention Giovinco. Such an attack would only make sense if we're really planning to play a 4-3-3, which I don't think is likely.

You know NOTHING of Amauri and Quag it sounds like, and only looking at their sizes, naturally for you it seems like small in size means creative and big only poacher. While Quag is a poacher who runs behind the defends off the ball (centre or from the sides), and shoots well. Is not a creative player in anyway.

You REALLY need to see Amauri's overall game if you just said he is similar to Trez and Vinnie. Him not being not Trez is DEAD obvious (Amauri's goals this season, many of them he has created for himself), but please tell me when you seen Vinnie do this:

No way Amauri's game is Trez game, from what i saw,he create goals as well as he scores them.

I like Quagliarella, but IMO Amuri is better and we will sign him.
