Stupid, stupid ending.
He fakes his own death, somehow swims out of a hurricane, abandons his son with a known killer and starts a new life as a lumberjack? Fuck off.

I wish I would have stopped watching this show after season four.

At least Deb died.
:D

I did exactly that, stopped after the season 4, or at the one where the blondie dies.

Remember the season finale where they killed Rita? That was the best.
Ah Rita.. The only reason I stuck for one more season then I should with this show.

Who else felt like this when Deb died?

I love that moment. There had been talk of showtime doing a Dexter spinoff series so I had assumed that Deb would live and be the focus of the spinoff. Thank god I was wrong.

Everything in that review was spot on.

They didn't even bother to try to come up with a plausible way that Dexter could have got out of that Hurricane. Or why he even did that to begin with. There was no reason for him to fake his death, he wasn't wanted for anything.

Also, why were they evacuating the hospital with the hurricane like two miles off shore? Really, wouldn't they have done that at least a day or two before it made landfall? At that point I would think it would be safer to keep everyone in the hospital instead of trying to move them with that storm bearing down on them. :sergio:

Another huge plot hole. Dexter kills saxon in a police interigation room and angel and quinn decide to let him go. Wouldn't internal affairs and other higher ranking officers be involved if a high profile mutliple murder suspect was stabbed to death by a police employee while in police custody? They certainly wouldnt just let him walk away without a detailed statement and a lot of questioning. Smh

To be fair, Dexter did try to make it look like self defence. They never told Dexter there wouldn't be a case against him. I think both Batista and Quinn knew it was staged but they felt Dexter did good and let him go for now. Maybe even to let him escape the country while he can.

I just think that it was sloppy writing. They were trying to do way to much in one hour. It was a complete mess. And still, no way a high value suspect gets stabbed to death by a police employee in a manor police department like that without the top brass and internal affairs getting involved.

Yeah it wasn't perfect or even good but it wasn't 100% random too. The writing was bad for most of the season so that's not a surprise. They cleary had no real idea how to end this show and tried to figure something that will make everyone happy. Didn't really work.

Here is the biggest let down of the whole show for me and what i looked forward to since the first season.
Dexter getting caught!

he should of been caught. i would of loved to have seen everyones faces when they found out dexter was the bay harbour butcher and then there could have been a good storyline based around if what he did was good an if the media an public took a liking to him and then him on the electric chair would of been an epic moment like the green mile sort of shit :D

What a crap ending to my favourite tv show ever.

That's the ending I had imagined since few seasons back! It's a real shame what they did to the ending.

^Yup, Debb is probably one of the main reasons why many fans stuck with this show after season 4. I know I did.
