Let's face it, from the moment of his transfer to Arsenal it was obvious he was way above the Premier League. One of the very best forwards in Europe in his time (perhaps not anymore), he should have played in a more competitive league. Pity his Inter adventure never worked out.

yea, english league's quality is too low, when average players in italy goes there, they are great players there, but well its also good to go english premier league, at least you get more involvement in first team football

i think he could have really lived up to his potential in Europe if he had not been afraid of flying... (he misses many away games!)

As great as he is ....he still is underrated

I've heard that Bergkamp's fear of flying is because of a stupid practical joke, when one of the passengers warned that he had explosives in a handbag he was holding .. after hours of suspense it turned out that the guy was drunk and he had done that because he was soo bored and wanted to do have fun !!

Personally

I think Bergkamp is past his prime
but he can shine in EPL
along with Zola and Di Canio and the other has beens

soon is going to be MLS born again over there......

dennis is one of my favourite dutch players! he has imagination and guile. i think that, like zidane, he got recognition at a latet stage of his career. sometimes i wish those players don't get any older, just stay at 24 until we get sick of them!

I would never get tired of Bergkamp. Zidane, I'm already tired of.

This bashing of the English Premiership is getting quite annoying.
Bergkamp didn't fail in serie a, he simply played for a very poor,
defence-minded Inter side. Likewise Thierry Henry didn't fail at
Juve either, as he proved when he terrorised Juve at Highbury
last season. Basically, Italian football is sterile and not attractive
to watch as can be seen by the exodus of top players in recent
years. The Premiership provides already gifted footballers with
a freedom to enjoy their football and express themselves on the
pitch, while also maintaining a highly competitive edge.

You think serie a is still the best in the world, but it's not. Spain
is the strongest with England in second and Italy vying for third
with Germany. Also apart from the Juve, the two Milan clubs and
the two Roman Clubs seria a doesn't have the strength in depth
of the Premiership. Como,Modena,Empoli,Brescia and the like would be mauled in the English League.

I hope I'm wrong, as I'd like to see Juve win the Champions'
League but the English sides will do better in the competition
and they'll do so by playing quick, attractive, skillfull football,
something they don't get enough credit for and something
Italian football should try and emulate.
