Del Piero hasn't done more than Zlatan, that's a foolish argument, I'll only say that the latter has seen alot more playing time.
You, sorry to say, are wearing Del Piero blinders. I really have no clue whatsoever why people cannot see this. Zlatan is more involved in the matches, has scored 6 goals thus far, and has at 8 "assists." Zlatan is more of a force as well. This info compared to Del Piero's 7 goals and 2 "assists".... ENOUGH SAID.

Capello's decisions make it very convenient for you to make that statement but wasn't DP offering more than Zlatan when he was replaced against Roma, Siena, Lecce, Ajax and others? He failed to play the full game against Maccabi after scoring, at who's expense I wonder? If I'm pro-DP then Capello and yourself are definitely pro-Zlatan and one thing you can't deny is Don Fabio's favouritism towards Zlatan. Ibrahimovic is the better player right now, but it's not fair to Alex that he's only played one full game all season when he has outdone his strike partner on quite a few occasions.
Of course I'm pro Zlatan. I am "PRO" anyone who has shown the better form during the season. I am "PRO" anyone who gets himself invloved in the matches more. And who knows, maybe Del Piero's fitness is the reason for Capello subbing him? If I was manager, I would certainly choose Zlatan over Del Piero. But that's just me, I could see many others here field Alex and Trezeguet all the time, with Tacchinardi in midfield. I am very thankful to have a manager who is not afraid to play the younger players, that is what we need.

I think Del Piero should go to the bench and use him as substitute, when Trez gets back he and Zlatan should go upfront...
Or maybe Capello will use the rotation system, you know like the begining of the season... maybe, I don't know

1. You misunderstood me, Andy. I meant that it is foolish to argue that DP has done more than Zlatan because he hasn't. Read the post one more time. "Del Piero hasn't done more than Zlatan, that's a foolish argument". I'm agreeing with you there. The part about Ibrahimovic having played more is merely a fact that may have contributed to him being more involved.

2. I would choose Zlatan over DP as well, but there have been occasions when the latter has been outplaying our big Swedish striker and has still been sacrificed. Ale said himself that he feels fine and wants to play as many minutes as possible and fatigue is something that players show on the pitch. Even when DP is doing well and is clearly not tired he is still subbed. And you have no idea as to how relieved I am that Capello has dropped Tacchinardi for Blasi. Regardless of anything you come up with you CANNOT deny that Cap favours Zlatan. Sometimes it is justifiable, other times it isn't, and you can't deny that.

yeah but i was thinking:

Buffon
Zebina Thuram Canna Zambro
Camo Emerson Nedved
Zlatan Del Piero
Trez
Nah this is not going to happen. This idea is only an attempt to get Del Piero playing time when Trezeguet comes back to fitness. This formation would kill our great defense which has been very effective so far.

Would you rather have Capello favour Del Piero, or have him favour Zlatan? Coaches will always play who they think will get the job done, and in this case Capello believes in our Swede. Can you blame him really? I certainly cannot.

The defense has been very effective, but how dangerous are we upfront? We may have gotten away with it against Bayern and Ajax and the same may happen against Real Madrid, but I don't see this Juventus team scoring more than one if at all against Chelsea or Milan, and that's what we've got to do in order to win the CL.

How about favour none? If I had to choose who I'd rather Capello favour then I'd go with Zlatan, but what I want is for him to do the common sense thing and leave the players who are performing best on the pitch. Even when Del Piero has been one of those players he has been replaced which yes, I can blame him for. Why should a coach have to be biassed towards a player? You make it sound as if you MUST favour a player when being neutral is clearly the right thing to do.

8 goals maybe ? 5 in Serie A, one against Bayern, one against Tel Aviv and one against Djugarden??? It comes all together as 8 goals not 7

Somebody close these DEL PIERO argument threads. All they turn into is a fight between the pro DP fans and everyone else who thinks they're crazy with one side that always has problems taking critiscism.

It's funny because I see the same people for both sides of the argument everytime the "Del Boy" issue comes up.

The only thing I can add to this is that, when Del P - ero quits football, we are going to lose a good chunk of fans, those who remain will reminisce about the 90's and the years he actually did something.
