The guy is worth his weight in gold in fan relations, team recognition and marketing.

Not to mention he was the first to stand behind Juve last season and take a cut to stay. I'd give him what he wants.

Juve Deny Del Piero Rift Juventus have poured cold water on reports that their ongoing contract talks with Alessandro Del Piero have turned ugly.
Juve Deny Del Piero Rift

According to the Italian press, the talismanic captain and his representatives were stunned to point of being insulted by the contract extension offer put forward by the club, but the powers that be at the Bianconeri adamantly deny that the talks have suffered any major low points. To the contrary, they suggest that a deal could be sown up by the end of this week.

Del Piero was reportedly offered an extension of his contract until 2010, on the condition that he is willing to accept a 20% pay cut, in light of the fact that he is now almost three years into the wrong side of 30.

Naturally, fans of the 'Old Lady’ will be hoping that the club’s assurances are validated, as Juve have already gone through an arduous summer in terms of contract disputes, with both David Trezeguet and Mauro Camoranesi coming close to leaving the club before a settlement could be reached.

DelPiero is one of the best players in the whole world..even if he s 40 years old and he deserve 5 million and more....he is not such a player, he is the symbol of the Juve...they must give him what he wants.. so people who said bad things about him the better thing to do is to shut up.............if you are really Juventino you must support him....
