Delle Alpi to be restructured (24 Viewers)

Which option for the delle Alpi: Restore or Rebuild?

  • Restore = Pisanu/UEFA compliance, 50k seats, same structure, same stands-to-pitch gap

  • Rebuild = 40k seats for brand-spanking new park socking us into debt. (Costs 10x+ more than Restore)

they were only gonna make it 42,000 for the euro's so i think they probably would make it that big now. if they do it wont be too bad as long as its close to the pitch, it would be very intimidating as it would be almost full al the time.
Big doubt there.....with our current 26000 seat stadium there r times when the stadium have empty spots........our board should do something about that.......

Holy crap. That's some serious news.

But that should hopefully allow the investment to have a longer shelf life than if they just hacked the delle Alpi. May not be a bad decision in the end.

Juve approve new stadium
Tuesday 18 March, 2008

Juventus’ Board of Directors has approved the construction of a new £82m stadium on the site of the old Stadio Delle Alpi.

The plans to create a new arena had been put on hold with the Calciopoli scandal and their demotion to Serie B, but finally look set to go ahead.

However, they specified that it would not require an increase in the club’s capital.

The stadium should be ready for the 2011-12 season and until then Juve will continue to share the Olimpico with local rivals Torino.

The Delle Alpi was constructed for the 1990 World Cup, but has always been extremely unpopular for its cavernous size.

The worst aspect of it was the athletics track that created a large gap between the stands and the pitch.

Juve aim to create a modern 'British style’ stadium that can also be used for conferences, events and shopping centres.
