And their commitment and hard work were recognised at last night's Oscar del Calcio awards ceremony. The annual event, held in Milan, saw Del Piero receive a lifetime achievement award, while Marchisio earned a spot in the team of the year. The winners were selected by a panel of Italian Footballers’ Association members from a list of nominees announced in December.
Alex and Claudio were unable to receive their awards in person but expressed their thanks through a video message that was played to all in attendance at the Teatro Dal Verme.
