No, I'm not talking about installing Linux (haha, it's started already).

This might be a little basic for some users, but for those of you who are left scratching your heads wondering why your Windows installation gets more and more bloated each day, and refuse to believe that it's just a rubbish OS, give the following tool a try:

http://www.yorkspace.com/pc-de-crapifier/

Here's a video guide showing you how to use msconfig to cull the applications that start up when you boot into Windows

I like the title of the thread.

Before opening, I though why would Graham open a new Linux thread, he knows more than that :D

A software that can actually uninstall the biggest virus of all, now that is something :toast:

You all know that the biggest virus is Norton, right?

Jeeks, can you tell me what you think is the best antivirus-software available? (freeware)

I have Norton Antivirus + Norton Internet Security installed and it's bugging the living hell out of me too :(

Good luck uninstalling it :D

My favourite back at the Windows times (my life feels so bright that I won't go back to such an era), was Kaspersky labs, there is a freeware version and a fancy version that costs. F Secure is also recommended as it is smooth and works fine, but I doubt there is a freeware. Then you have also AVG that exists in a freeware and a fancy version.

Anyway, just for the heck of it, I always opted for the fanciest version and cracked the hell out of it back at the Windows days.

I even had a licensed XP but I installed a pirated one.

That's great stuff. Anyway, I'll try uninstalling my Norton software now because I've always suspected it of slowing down my system considerably and this was kind of the confirmation I needed. I'll give Kaspersky labs a try.

Haha, I did exactly the same things... though the pirated XP was because it was easier to download an ISO than find the CD :p

Not only Norton slows down the system, it is the slowest antivirus program to detect a virus and the slowest antivirus program to recognize new virsues.

    Viruses? What are these Martin?

Well you see, to most people, catching a cold is no big deal. You start coughing, nose runs, feel uncomfortable, but after a few days it's gone. But if you have AIDS and your immune system is completely shot, then even the smallest cold can threaten your life..
