The article is old. The reason he would only want to go there is for salary probably, because Palermo's strike force has openings after Amauri goes, and West Hams have several strikers, even if top ones.

But here's the kicker, if the reason is salary, how would it change wethers its in Palermo or West Ham? They are both loan deals, Juve would be paying him the same either way. If he was sold to West Ham and they raised his salary, that would be another matter, but its just a loan.

The Palermo deal would be a co-ownership though.

West ham will pay him 1,000,000 to go there on loan for one season, while if he went on co-ownership to Palermo he'd get jack shit

Lanzafame might think the chances of a return to Juve are higher if he goes just on loan to West Ham than in a co-ownership to Palermo. It isn't necessarily all about the money;). Personally, I hope he'll end up at West Ham and we get Amauri nonetheless.

Where did you hear he will get 1m just go to there for loan? I thought the speculation regarding more money for him is salary related (which as I said, doesnt make sense, co-ownership or loan, a players salary doesnt get higher unless a new contract is signed). Its not usual practice to pay a player for loan? You are supposed to pay the club?

Either way, I rather see him in Palermo.

Lanzafame Rejects Palermo Move
According to La Stampa, Davide Lanzafame will not be moving to Palermo as part of the Amauri deal after rejecting a transfer to the Sicilian capital.

The Juventus-owned Lanzafame is regarded as one of the most promising young players in Italy, and has been compared to Manchester United’s Cristiano Ronaldo by some members of the Calcio community.

Last week it was agreed that Lanzafame would be moving to Palermo in a co-ownership deal as part of the exchange that will see Rosanero hitman Amauri end up in Turin.

However, La Stampa says that Lanzafame has now rejected a move to Palermo, and instead wants to join Premiership side West Ham on-loan, where he has been offered €1m for the season.

"Palermo and West Ham are both huge clubs," stated the striker last week.

"But at my age I think it would be beneficial to have an experience abroad, which would enhance me not only as a footballer, but also from a linguistic and lifestyle point of view."

It is not thought that this development will have any bearing on the Amauri transfer deal, as Palermo have become sick and tired of what has become something of a soap opera. Amauri is expected in Turin today for a medical, and could complete his move within the next few hours.

I think there are instances where a club might pay a player (and his club) extra money to come on loan. I think a Saudi Arabian club did that with Eto'o 2 years ago. I doubt they are doing that with this kid though. If they are they must see something special in him.

BULLSHIT. Lanciafiamme is now at Tolon and he is unable to sign his agreement with Palermo. Stop.

La Stampa sucks.
